About this project
**** UPDATE We are now offering BOTH designs of the trousers, as well as the dungarees by popular request. *****
The trousers will be the same price as the dungarees so select the reward (depending on whether you want trousers, a 2 pack of trousers or trousers and a t-shirt) select the corresponding dungaree option and when the campaign is complete we will send you a survey for your size, and style choices. The trousers will come in sizes 6-12, 12-18, 18-24, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, 5-6, 6-7, 7-8.
Right now we want to launch our awesome unisex organic dungarees, which are roomier in the seat to accommodate those fluffy-cloth-covered bums. So many reasons to love these dungarees:

- colourful unisex pattern;
- nice and roomy for cloth bums;
- we want your help to make sure they are completely awesome!
Your pledge will make it possible for us to order our first 1,000 in sizes 6-12 months, 12-18 months, 18-24 months and 2-3 years. That's not all, we want you to be part of the process.
We have put a pretty awesome and inspiring selection of rewards together for your pledging pleasure. It's a tough choice, but I think my favourite is the limited edition space print with Mae Jemison quote; Mae was the first African American woman to travel in to space.
If that's not enough they will pave the way for lots more amazing pieces of clothing all jam packed with unique loveliness, and marketed to both genders equally.
Because we believe that EVERYONE, regardless of age or gender, deserves clothes that are bright and colourful, allowing them to express themselves and stand out, as well as being fit for purpose, whether that be soft fabrics perfect for crawling, or robust attire for exploring. We believe that no person, animal, nor our planet should suffer to bring us fashion. We will continually strive to bring our prices down through the economies of scale.
Girls are about more than just pink and princess' and boys need more than blue and grey. They both deserve bright and colourful clothes that keep up with them in their adventures.
All this is packaged in merriment and brought to you from the beauty of North Wales, the home of Gecko, a land we are very proud to be from.
Gecko Clothing is a family run clothing brand. Founded by a husband and wife team aided by our 3 small people (admittedly, at 15 years old, one of them is no longer so small) and wolf.
Gecko Clothing is about creating clothes that are:
We have been working with a particularly inspiring factory in India that is both GOTS and Fairtrade registered. They use organic cotton sourced from local farmer cooperatives within a 40km radius of their plant and are supporting local small farmers through Fairtrade processes, as well as keeping their carbon footprint to a minimum. They exclusively use GOTS certified dyes and processes to maintain clean and environmentally friendly production and practices.
Basically they are incredibly awesome and we're very excited to be working with them!
So we have designed the dungarees and worked with our factory to produce samples in our 4 sizes. These samples are not the final piece. We want to make sure they are completely perfect first, which is where you come in. We don't just want your financial support, or your cheerleading (although both are valued, appreciated and even loved); we want the benefit of your experience and opinion.
We produced 12 samples, most of which have been sent out for review to blogger parentals and non blogger parentals alike. We are asking for them to test them out and let us know what they would like to see in the final product. We will put these findings and options to everyone that pledged and together we can make these dungarees into truly excellent pieces of clothing.
If we smash our goal and make our stretch goal we will be commissioning our next product which will be some pretty fab and unique funky trousers. Again, we will want your input to finalise which print to use.
We have loved all your input so far! We asked you guys what designs you would like for your little people, regardless of gender, and it was pretty overwhelmingly science and space. We also have a long list of other outstanding ideas we will certainly be returning to!

Kickstarter is all or nothing funding which means if we don't meet our goal by the end of the campaign we will not get any of the money pledged and it will be returned to you lovely supporters from whence it came. However we are sure that, with your support, that will not be our fate!
When the campaign has closed, if we make our goal we will collate the reviews and findings and put the options to you. If there's anything extra we don't put to vote, feel free to pipe up and say, it really will be a collaborative effort!
Slight changes have been made for the final design. The design on the samples caused a few issues in printing. We have combated this with the following changes:

Risks and challenges
Our factory is GOTS and Fairtrade registered, neither accreditations are easy to achieve, which in themselves speak volumes for the facility. We have worked with our factory in producing the samples. Although this wasn’t always a smooth process, all the ‘bugs’ and issues have now been ironed out and the design revised. We have got a piece on the evolution of the design so you can follow this for yourself if you so wish. We have even sent the samples out to four bloggers and four non-blogging parents for feedback, and we will be gathering their feedback on completion of the Kickstarter, then collating it in time to make any relevant changes for the final run.
We have added some ‘wiggle room’ to our turnaround time for the money clearing and the manufacture and deliver itself in case of any unforeseen delays. We are in pretty much daily communication with the factory in discussion of our future range and designs we are looking to release, so strong working relationships have been forged which certainly helps the process.
The risks for us? We’ve taken them! We have invested everything we have to get this far! We would do it all again too; you have to chase your dreams.
