"Archetype" was born out of necessity for me. Shortly after my last album was released, there was an election. An election that I, as well as almost everyone I know, thought would end very differently. I remember waking up the morning after the election and feeling numb. That numbness took over my mind and my creative soul for a solid year and a half. There's no lighthearted way to say it. I shut down. Each new day felt like I was just going through the motions and I had no desire to create.
In an effort to rekindle my love of music, I started exploring the styles that initially made me fall in love with music as a child. Blues, Soul, Rock, R&B, and Gospel. Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Journey, Aerosmith, Queen. These artists were instrumental to me, even before I found theater. They were the blueprint, or Archetype, of my love for music. And slowly, but surely, that passion started to reawaken. By mid to late 2018 I was back at it and the songs started pouring out... and unsurprisingly, they were mostly routed in issues stemming from the current political climate. So the double meaning in "Archetype" is politically charged regarding the blueprint of what America stands for to me.
"Archetype" marks my 4th studio album as a composer. There are 10 world premieres on this album, many of which are some of the most personal songs I've ever written. The fact that I get to do what I love every day is more satisfying than I can convey through a digital fundraising platform. I couldn't be more proud of this collection of songs and I'm thrilled to get them out to you. Thank you for stopping by and thank you for your support! Let's make an album together!

Risks and challenges
With any artist or creative project you'll find an infinite number of obstacles to overcome. The biggest risk here is budget. To truly make this album the way I want to make it, with the vocalists I know could truly take it to the next level, with the musicians, arrangers and producers, recording studio space, videographers, photographers, rehearsals, reproduction, designers, promotion, etc... it's not going to be cheap. And while $25,000 is quite a hefty sum of money, it's truly the bare minimum it would take to get you the product I know it can be. With Kickstarter fees, processing fees and taxes realistically we'd have to raise about $40,000 on here so keeping to the budget will be the most difficult risk and challenge to overcome in order to pull this off. But if I know anything about myself... if I want something badly enough, I'll stop at nothing to make it happen. This album is no exception so there's no other option than to finish it.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
