In "Pantheon", the ancient Greek gods return and attempt to re-establish their worship on earth by destroying all religions.
About the Novel
Pantheon is a novel where twelve of the ancient Greek gods try to reclaim their worship by destroying all other religions in the world. Published in late 2011, it is the first of a new series called the "Fallen Olympians". Its chapters take place in the modern era, as well as the Roman Empire, Renaissance Italy, the Pandyan Dynasty of Southern India, the Toltec Empire in Mesoamerica, Viking Scandinavia, a 17th century Jamaican port overrun with pirates, Russia during Napoleon's attempted conquest, the bloody trenches of WWI, and the twilight streets of Weimar era Berlin. I Am Seeking Funding for a Trailer and Webisodes
Now that the novel has been published and is available on Amazon, Barns & Noble, and other retail websites, I would like to create:
- one 30 second trailer (with voice-over)
- six 5 minute webisodes where a professional voice actor reads excerpts from the novel
The videos will be posted to YouTube, Vimeo, and Google Videos. I possess the tools and ability to create and edit the video. I am seeking funding to hire the voice talent (one male and one female) through voices.com. That cost is $300 per hour, and I am confident that two hours with a professional will be enough. Any excess funding raised will be used to increase the number of webisodes produced.
With print excerpts on my website, and audio excerpts online, I hope to give potential readers an idea of the novel's content and story.
About the Author
I am an archaeologist and author who works primarily with the ancient Greek and Roman world. I am a lecturer at Stanford University and have also taught at the University of California at Santa Cruz and at other schools in the US and UK. I am also one of the directors of the Binchester Project, an archaeological project excavating a Roman fort and civilian settlement in England. Pantheon was my first novel. I am now writing a murder mystery story set on Hadrian's Wall in the third century AD.
