Perfect for dignified dinner parties, or that special holiday homecoming, Gay Men Draw Vaginas is 220 pages of full-color vag drawings -- all inside a handsome hard cover.
The Vag Artists
For three years, we've been collecting vag drawings from the gays, from fine artists to average Joe Homos. The drawings display a range of "skill" level so as to lay bare the vagina of the collective gay male mind. Many of the drawings came out of art booth sessions we held in San Francisco, some of them were mailed to us, and some of them we asked for.
The Vaginas in this Book
Most of the drawings attempt to replicate anatomy, but many are conceptual or "abstract." We've tried to include a good mix of both, and we've spent a lot of time arranging them as thematic chapters in the book.

Go deep and review our many folds of sponsorship. While you can't complain about hundreds of vaginas being mailed to your doorstep, we want you, our donors, to get even more cool stuff. Our higher reward levels include original work by us real-ass gay artists. We're thinking, if you like Gay Men Draw Vaginas, you'll like our other artsy crap. But in order to get copies of the book, here's the deal:
Why Do You Need $37K?
We're publishing, at a minimum, 1,000 copies of a hard cover, full-color, offset printed book of vagina drawings. We're using a local, high-quality printing company in Berkeley, CA called Edition One -- they make beautiful, offset printed books. The base cost of printing plus Kickstarter's 5% fee, plus Amazon Payment's 3% fee, plus taxes, plus shipping materials, comes to about $37 per copy. So, $37 x 1,000 = $37,000. We've already spent a lot of our own money just collecting the drawings, and with our Kickstarter donation levels, we don't expect to make any money off this project. If we get more than what we're asking, we'll just print more books to offer donors or sell at boutiques.

Risks and challenges
We're printing our full-color, hard cover, offset print run with a local Berkeley, CA publisher called Edition One Books. It will take 8 weeks after we put in the order (Sept. 2014) for us to receive the books and ship them out during early November 2014. If there's a problem with the printer, our shipment could be delayed. But we've planned the timing so that even if there is a delay, it would have to be a major one in order for us to become unable to ship books by the holidays.
Other challenges include the nuts and bolts of organizing and fulfilling rewards, but we've both managed huge organizational projects before, including a successful Kickstarter, so we're not too worried about coming through with things.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
