What is it?
Gas Roots Magazine is a brand new publication that aims to showcase custom motorcycles and the lives of people surrounding them. From builders and painters, to riders and suppliers.
It's more than just the motorcycles as well. It's about showcasing the passion and love that goes into these incredible machines.
It's about good times.
When will it come out and what is in it?
The magazine is set to release in print in August 2019 and will include:
- images of choppers,
- profiles and interviews with builders and painters,
- write-ups on events,
- featured models,
- and more.
The idea for the layout behind this magazine is heavily rooted in old skating magazines. As you flip through the pages you will see quality images of people's projects completed and showcased on location as well as close up detailed shots to showcase the attention to detail and passion in these projects. There will even be images of ongoing builds and work spaces.
As you flip through the magazine more, you will also come across articles and thought provoking pieces written by motorcycle enthusiast about topics you care about. Some of these articles will be DIY tips and projects you can do in your own garage and some will be written about living life on 2 wheels and where it takes us.
There will also be images from events such as Giddy Up Vintage Chopper Show, Texas Hills Cycle Show, Born Free Motorcycle Show, Handbuilt Motorcycle Show, and more.
While the magazine is Texas-based, we will be featuring bikes and builds from all over and will even be attempting to include international features regularly.
One of the final things you will see in this magazine is a featured set of lifestyle images with good looking women shot artistically around motorcycles and and among the motorcycle environment.
Why a Kickstarter?
When starting from nothing, it's hard to show what you can do. This Kickstarter is to help fund our initial print run of the magazine and help get pre-orders and initial subscribers.
Where can I see more?
How can I be involved?
We are still looking for contributing writers and photographers. If you would like to get involved, recommend a builder/shop profile, or have your bike featured, send an email to email@example.com
Risks and challenges
So many people these days will say that "Print is Dead" and in many cases they are right. Printed magazines have been replaced in digital on many fronts. With a high-quality nice magazine like Gas Roots Magazine, nothing can replace the touch and smell of a freshly printed quality publication. This might not be the magazine for everyone but it is the magazine for the true motorcycle aficionado.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
