Video Update #10 Brian Fricks spotlight, world creation, and text FAQ

Greetings Kickstarters!

In this video update, Chris Taylor and Brian Fricks dive deeper into the Wildman level creation process. Nodes, lighting, sausage, and game design is all discussed!

We've also included more concept work! Insects, 'creeps', and weapons - oh my!

Don't forget to check out our daily stream with Bruce Bjorklund at 5 PM PST! You can find the channel, and recordings of past streams here: http://www.twitch.tv/gaspoweredgames

Lastly, we have new FAQ questions from Chris below! You can also find all our FAQ questions compiled at our forums

1) Can you go a bit more deeply on how the economics during the rts, and arpg sequences will work ?

CT - Gold is the main resource, but there is a lot of value in the things you find in the world, and you can sell these items to Warlords and other neutral parties you come across in the world.

2) Will you be able to create "cities" with your clan ? i mean to a bigger part then a few different barracks. Like houses, fortresses, armory, towers and so on.

CT - The focus is on overland adventures much like a standard Action RPG but with a twist… you are searching for incredible technology to help you war effort, and to take you to victory on the battlefield… what we call the war zone!

3) Will community made maps be featured?

CT - We are super excited about the mod tools and getting folks to make new maps for the game. We'll provide a method for people to share and rate each others maps, and the best ones will surely rise to the top.

4) If not at launch, will PvP be something that Wildman will see after the game is released?

CT - Yes, it would come after the initial SP and MP COOP is completed.

5) What are your thoughts about e-sports?

CT - I think eSports is awesome, but we do understand it will be hard to make that a priority in the very beginning. We must first focus on making a great game.

As always, thank you all for the amazing support! Keep on tweeting, liking, and sharing!

Love it! Looks great. Would be a good addition to the RTS/RPG games and most likely better than what's out there.

@ All the people talking about Totalbiscuit - i'm sure he's aware of this game. People flooding him with "check this game out" messages isn't going to help, it's going to hurt your chances of actually getting him to show it.

@ GPG - guys i really hope this gets funded. I know it's going to be a stretch, but anything is possible!!

I totally agree with all the people saying you should set something up with some popular youtubers!

Coverage from TotalBiscuit would be a huge help to the campaign =)

    4. Emil Leonardsson on February 6, 2013

@Bruce Yes you should try to make some interviewer with some popular youtubers

    5. Jalister on February 5, 2013

Liking this project more and more. Would be a damn shame if it fell through.

You really should get in touch with Total Biscuit for an interview.
He is a SupCom fan, so it shouldn't be a problem getting that interview. :)
His Youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/TotalHalibut has a very big following and that has made a big difference in other kickstarter projects.

    18. Jordan York on February 5, 2013

I love the level editor that you guys have! Great stuff! Keep it coming :)

    19. Nader Ghazi Hobballah on February 5, 2013

But will there be any living elements to your base as it expands? For instance, if you have a kettle and a barracks, will you see men playing with dogs? Or archers hunting on the outskirts with dogs for food?

    20. Petr Vojtěch on February 5, 2013

      Hey, the bridge looks cool!

    21. Gas Powered Games Creator on February 5, 2013

Kyle - The game won't have city management elements

The second Q&A doesn't really seem to answer the question. Do you mean the focus is on the Action-RPG elements to the exclusion of the "Sim City" elements suggested in the question? Not complaining, just clarifying.

Otherwise, glad to see more stuff for this =) Hope it gets to funded!

    23. Blackstaff on February 5, 2013

Cool update. Keep it rolling !

    24. Benjamin Quintero on February 5, 2013

I highly recommend you look at the Warcraft 3 editor. They have great terrain painting tools. Haven't played Starcraft 2 but I imagine they used a similar tool.

    25. Rob Watling on February 5, 2013

      First, Epic as always :D
