Just the mention of "spiral staircase" reminds me of dungeon siege. I'm excited to try out the tools. I think that it would be awesome to release both sets of tools so that enthusiasts, such as myself have the opportunity to play with the compiler.

Also, I like the style of the video. The fact that it wasn't heavily edited gave us the ability to feel like we are there with the team. Fantastic stuff.

I just backed this project. The concept looks awesome but, I'm backing because I simply want more of Chris and GPG....especially in the form of Kings and Castles. I saw the interview with Matt.... yes it's just a game but, games are really an art...I truly believe this and even at our darkest times throughout history there was always art. Chris and GPG....you're my Picaso. lol Seriously....keep the faith. If I can I'll review my pledge with more before the end.

    3. Bruce Tyson Bjorklund on February 1, 2013

      @Thomas - Maybe both? ;)

    4. ThomasN on February 1, 2013

Raptor's looking so sophisticated, I don't know if he wants to invite me to a cup of tea or bite my head off ^^

    5. René M Jensen on February 1, 2013

This is starting to look good :D always nice to hear and see more about the game.

Really hope i get to play this. i really like how its shaping up. really sounds like a fun and interesting game with some interesting twists.

    6. Styggron on February 1, 2013

Please disregard my comment regarding "hopefully there will be an offline one as well" because it being offline defeats the entire purpose of using the webtech. Sorry about that Chris I was watching the videos out of order as a catch up.

I just like having my stuff offline. :-) Anyway....forget me....on with your vision I love it ! :-)

    7. Kristian Hållstrand on February 1, 2013

Love the new pledge video, you've condensed lots of info on the gameplay, and still kept the flow and the action going.
I'm bumping Felix Olschewski's most excellent video. Together with the new pledge video, this might turn some heads, and generate more pledges...

    8. Styggron on February 1, 2013

Damn FANTASTIC UPDATE ! Love the editor !!! For me GPG made the BEST RTS'. I'm putting Total Annihilation back on my machine !!

Great online tool for the editor, hopefully there will also be an offline one as well. Fantastic !!!

No reason to be sweating - you did good :) I didn't even notice you were nervous until the end when you implied so.

The new intro video is good. You don't take yourselves too seriously, but it's also professional, finally explains what the game actually is and does, and your goals with it. It also gives a stronger feeling that you are able to pull it off, and seeing the team is a huge plus.

Looking forward to more art from Kevin!

    10. Shane Schrupp on February 1, 2013

Great video. Does a wonderful job of summing up what the game is about. I'm making sure to tell people to watch the new video at places I've posted about this in the past.

I am on board now. Loving the prehistoric, lost world feel of the new art concepts too.

    12. Rasmus Badstue Lund-Petersen on February 1, 2013

How many of your friends have pledged to this game because they got it recommended by you ?

    13. Commander Halley on February 1, 2013

      @Nicholas Michael Purchase
Hi Nick. Good point, but I think the difference is that before we paid less for a cut-down/dumbed down experience, and now we might pay (a lot) more, but hopefully get an experience we were actually looking for. I don't know about you, but I've shelled out a few hundred on SC, and on ED, so time will tell if that hope pays off. Still, it's a choice I guess, if we love an IP that much, we'll support them.

    14. Matthew Hardy on February 1, 2013

Nice Reddit alien on the wall. =P

    15. Nicholas Michael Purchase on February 1, 2013

The crazy thing is that we get mad at publishers overcharging us, now we're happy to pay MORE money for the same product! Man I hope this game gets funded.

Let's get wild, people. Spread the word.

    16. Rullakebab99 on February 1, 2013

Ohhhh, looks so great. Watched the video but now just gazing at the concept art. That dinosaur warrior looks so juicy... to kill! :PP i can´t wait to rip apart NPCs like that!

GPG, you are bigger than WildMan. Don't be afraid to think big and don't let your modesty kill GPG.
You made AAA games before and that is where your strength lies.

I think you should do a kick-start for an awesome RTS ! The market begs for RTS. EA with free to play ? Come-on, this is your chance.

You get your funding by the __number__ of backers, not by the amount of each pledge. And more people know you to make tha best RTS. Shields up !

    18. k1DBLITZ on February 1, 2013

This is going to sound REALLY bad.... but.... if you guys do close shop, I'd like to buy that Total Annihilation poster... :D and that Demigod art is calling me as well.

    19. Are Nybakk on February 1, 2013

The new video is way better. I've been in doubt about this whole thing, but I got a little more exited about it now :) The modding tools aren't that interesting to me at this time, but I'm a fan of Steam Workshop, so if that's something you might consider, that would cool.

GPG, keep up the great work! I really am enjoying watching the progress of this game development. Let's get this one funded, people!

      Mhh, interesting news.

Do you think, you will be able to show some parts of the base building in the next few days? Could really lead to some pledges in my opinion.

    23. andrzej raczynski on February 1, 2013

Good stuff, the GPS tweets are the only ones I've ever bothered to retweet. Looking forward to the game.

    24. Ronald F on February 1, 2013

"My hands are sweating so bad..." lol, love this update and the new video. Truly hope to see you guys get funded and continue on.

    25. Antonidas|Archmage of the Obsidian Order on February 1, 2013

The new video really gets your ideas across to the viewer.

    26. sterfield on February 1, 2013

This new video is 10 times better than the previous one.

    27. Nik Phillips on February 1, 2013

Great update. I'm a little concerned at how slowly the pledges are rolling in at the moment. Spread the word people!

    28. Brian Caceres on February 1, 2013

@Benjamin- I believe the mod tool tier will be announced on Monday during their live video stream on Twitch

    29. Andrew Easter - on February 1, 2013

Loving the simplicity of how you go about constructing maps. Its like GPG have returned to the roots of strategy games.

    30. Johannes 'Waldgeist' Rebhan on February 1, 2013

The new video looks much better. Shared it again with everyone I know on every platform I can. I wish you the best of luck that this spreads again and people give the project a second chance to back it. All the best to you and your team!

    31. Bill Schneider on February 1, 2013

Wow, the new video is really good!

The main thing is the explanation of the warzones, especially with the art and sketches, to show what you are actually imagining it being like. This really clears up the unknown for me, I think this concept stuff really helps. Thanks a lot :D

    32. Rizzonian on February 1, 2013

I just posted on my Facebook wall! I pleaded with people to support it! Fingers Crossed!

    33. Cerno B on February 1, 2013

Awesome! Updating the intro video was the best decision yet. Upped my pledge again since I do have high hopes for this project. I firmly believe that you can achieve a big push towards the end and just make it.

The new front page video is vastly superior to the original one. Hopefully that will help people who haven't seen high level concepts before get a better idea of the flow of the gameplay.

As for compile tools - yes! I think most people who'd want to mess around with them probably have all the service packs etc already installed, along with Eclipse, Visual Studio, or whatever other programming compiler they already use. Anything we can do to help flesh out the game is appreciated. Besides, I'd love to know I've done my part to help out a team that's brought me so much joy over the years.

I'm hoping a big push at the end gets you funded. If not I hope you retool and come back. Several projects have failed their first time out only to make it a second or even third time.
Love whats happening, looking forward to more.

    38. Meteor on February 1, 2013

Awesome update. As someone new to the modding scene, I can't wait to try these tools out. That concept art though, oh so delicious. I love the dinosaur art, and man that T-rex bearing a shield and all... just amazing!

    39. Jordan York on February 1, 2013

I don't know if I'm more excited for the video or that awesome concept art you put up :p I want to fight on that tree! It'd be so awesome to be able to knock your opponents off stuff like that while in combat. Great update. Keep them coming :)

    40. Benjamin Stanley on February 1, 2013

@Gas Powered Games - Just curious where is the tier for Early Adopter mod tools opening up?

    44. Alex North on February 1, 2013
