We have some news today. We are canceling the Wildman Kickstarter.

At this point, it makes sense for us to focus our attention on other ways to keep Gas Powered Games running. Unfortunately, we are unable to share any specifics in public. When we have news to share, we will be posting it on our site. If you want status updates, or if you want to continue discussing Wildman and/or this Kickstarter, please consider migrating over to forums.gaspowered.com.

We are profoundly grateful to those of you who backed this project and Gas Powered Games. Your passion and hard work put us in a position to write this exciting new chapter in the history of GPG.

Video Update #11 Kevin "The Punisher" Pun and concept art creation

Greetings Kickstarters!

In this video update, Kevin Pun demonstrates how he creates concept art for Wildman!

Chris Taylor Q/A:

1. If there are mounts the Wildman can ride, could there be an exclusive one for higher tier pledges?

CT – I think mounts are a great idea, and we really want to include them in the game, especially at the mid levels… I think it’s an interesting idea to have exclusive ones, but at this point, I think everyone will want to have access to this feature.

2. Will there be unique weapons and armor that can be crafted from different animals/monsters?

CT – That’s a great idea, but for sure I can say that different animals/monsters that are defeated in battle will definitely drop loot that is unique to them.

3. In the Skirmish Mode, will you be able to play as another faction, i.e. dinosaurs?

CT – If we can’t squeeze this into the initial release, we’d definitely like to do this in subsequent updates!

4. Will there be mobs that spawn at a certain time or a certain place?

CT – What we have planned is the ability to place spawners that will spawn randomly from a set of spawners (that are associated with each other – IE, enemies can come out of A, B or C), and then we can set spawners for a given time, or by a specific trigger, and many other controls. There’s really no limit to what you can do.

5. How interactive will the environments be?

CT – We will have fully destructible environments, and the foliage in those environments can grow back after a massive war has destroyed all the trees, bushes, grass, etc.

Video Update #10 Brian Fricks spotlight, world creation, and text FAQ

Greetings Kickstarters!

In this video update, Chris Taylor and Brian Fricks dive deeper into the Wildman level creation process. Nodes, lighting, sausage, and game design is all discussed!

1) Can you go a bit more deeply on how the economics during the rts, and arpg sequences will work ? 

CT - Gold is the main resource, but there is a lot of value in the things you find in the world, and you can sell these items to Warlords and other neutral parties you come across in the world. 

2) Will you be able to create "cities" with your clan ? i mean to a bigger part then a few different barracks. Like houses, fortresses, armory, towers and so on.

CT - The focus is on overland adventures much like a standard Action RPG but with a twist… you are searching for incredible technology to help you war effort, and to take you to victory on the battlefield… what we call the war zone! 

3) Will community made maps be featured?

CT - We are super excited about the mod tools and getting folks to make new maps for the game. We'll provide a method for people to share and rate each others maps, and the best ones will surely rise to the top.

4) If not at launch, will PvP be something that Wildman will see after the game is released?

CT - Yes, it would come after the initial SP and MP COOP is completed.

5) What are your thoughts about e-sports?

CT - I think eSports is awesome, but we do understand it will be hard to make that a priority in the very beginning. We must first focus on making a great game.
