Hi, I’m Gary W. Goldstein and I’ve been producing films in Hollywood for over 25 years, as well as managing the careers of many successful screenwriters and writer-directors. I am excited to ask for your support to self-publish my new book for aspiring screenwriters and to create a new creative community.
Why did you write this book?
Even after all these years and producing films like the ones you see above, I am still excited every day to innovate and help creative people break through and find the path to their own success.
As a producer and literary manager, I’ve discovered keys to success in Hollywood -- valuable tools that actually launch careers -- the very things that helped me jumpstart careers for so many screenwriters and filmmakers, and that allowed me to launch my own career when I was new to Los Angeles and didn’t know anyone in the business. I want to share these strategies with writers everywhere so they too can build a career doing what they love.
With all the recent changes in technology in the film and TV industry, including the massive growth of platforms like YouTube for showcasing talent, there’s never been more opportunity or a better time to be a creative person. Knowing what to do makes all the difference, saves so much time, gets you on the right path, meeting the right people. My passion is helping others turn their talent into a business.
Tell me about the book
I’ve just finished writing the book about how you can transform your talent into a vibrant career in Hollywood as a screenwriter. I don’t focus on teaching how to write a screenplay. Instead, my book is a blueprint that reveals how to build a successful career by having a detailed game plan, knowing the exact action steps to take to get your projects and career moving forward in Hollywood. The book is a precise roadmap and a simple plan that anybody can follow and duplicate the sort of results and success I've been able to enjoy. A trusted circle of successful friends in Hollywood read the manuscript and their feedback has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic, and I’m humbled by their reviews:
Here is a book of practical advice for those seeking a career in Hollywood, written by someone who really knows what he's talking about.
~ J.F. Lawton, Screenwriter (Pretty Woman, Under Siege)
Even if I’d paid 100 times the price for this book, it would’ve been a ‘steal’ compared with the measurable, career-changing results I’ve had – not to mention a huge leap in my confidence.
~ Cary Ellis, Award-Winning Screenwriter
I am living proof that Gary knows his stuff. When I met Gary, I had nothing but talent and a drive to succeed. Nine months and seventy-five meetings later, I had my first script option, my first studio writing assignment and a Writers Guild card.
~ Allison Burnett, Screenwriter (Autumn in New York, Underworld: Awakening, Untraceable)

What the money is going towards
For the book to be published and available online and in bookstores, the talents of a number of gifted professionals are needed to transform a manuscript into a quality book ready for publishing. Topping our list of essentials include a professional cover design, an experienced editor, a proofreader, the funds to cover initial print run of up to 1,000 books, shipping costs to get books into independent bookstores in major cities, a web designer to design and build a book website and manage our online traffic, someone to convert and format the digital of the book for Kindle and other devices, a person to help manage the launch of the book and more.
The $12,000 goal brings us close, at least close enough to get started, albeit some of the items listed above wouldn't be fully funded.
Even with the Internet, there’s actually a lot that goes into successfully launching a book into the world, and every talent and need described above is crucial, especially given the potential to elevate, support and help screenwriters and creatives get their voices heard. This is more than a book, it’s our mission! Take a look at the rewards and see how you can get something great for yourself or a writer you care about.
Help us share the campaign and build momentum that will help trigger bonuses and bigger rewards for everyone! As we meet each stretch goal, we’ll continue to add more bonuses:
UNLOCKED: $6K WIN!
If we can reach 50% of our campaign goal at the end of the first week, everyone who contributes $15 or above will receive a free audio version of the book as a thank you!
UNLOCKED: $12K WIN! Backer Book Launch Party in L.A. and everybody with a $35 contribution or more will be invited!

Can you ship Internationally? We love our international writers out there hence why we made everything available digitally and remotely even our awesome mentors! The only draw back is we cannot send physical copies at the moment.
Is the Interactive Workbook Perk included in all the perks at the higher levels? Yes in fact it is. The amazing interactive workbook is included in all perks after it! I know you going to love it.
Risks and challenges
Thankfully I know many highly qualified people who can fill the roles mentioned above to help successfully publish my book. I've also researched Amazon CreateSpace and discussed with several independent writers and publishers to gauge our campaign goal. The current draft of the book is in the final stages and I am confident with successful funding I can deliver all the physical and digital rewards as scheduled and have a successful book launch. I've also spoken with all the great mentors who are volunteering for the Mentor reward and have their time and committed to being there for everyone who gets mentoring.
