Bad Lands: Curse of the Skinwalker (Canceled)
Bad Lands is a co-op western horror survival game where brave heroes fight to save Blackwater Gulch from a vicious pack of were-things!
Bad Lands is now EU-Friendly!
In Bad Lands, you and your friends will take control of brave, yet rival Heroes, fighting off a ravening horde of brutal Skinwalkers and other folklore creatures. Form your posse, kill some beasts, and get some loot!
All game components will be top of the line, heavy-duty, linen-coated boards, tokens and pawns plus durable blackcore playing cards so all of your components will be built to last. Click here to download the preview rulebook, or watch the video above to learn how to play!
Bad Lands is a co-op survival game for 1-4 players. Just pick the Hero you want to play, gather up their card and pawn and dive right into the action. If you're feeling creative, you can even build your own Hero from scratch. And, since you don't need a separate player to control all of the bad guys, you can easily play solo games as well!
Bad Lands comes with 6 heavy duty, double-sided, linen coated Board Tiles. You only need 4 Board Tiles play. Building interiors are illustrated in the center of each 10x10" tile, with dirt and road areas along the edges, making small town blocks and neighborhoods for your heroes to defend.
Bad Lands features a whole host of vicious beasts for your Heroes to vanquish, and a whole lot of loot for you to collect. Draw Encounter cards each turn to see what creatures attack, and earn Loot Cards for defeating them. The more you kill and the more you collect, the more Fame (XP) your Hero will earn. Click here for a PDF showing all of the loot cards found in Curse of the Skinwalker.
All of this combines into an exciting survival game that is easy to learn and fun to play. Don't like to surrounded by mindless beasts? You can also play in Adventure Mode with one player acting as a Game Master, and you can also link your games together into ongoing campaigns. So rustle up a few friends and help save Blackwater Gulch from certain destruction, and strike it rich along the way!
Bad Lands has been in development for over 2 years, and now we need your help to finish the game. We still have a lot of art to finish, and the cost to produce even the minimum of 1000 copies is pretty steep. We have lots of awesome plans for Bad Lands, but first we need to fund the game.
Your generous donation of $55 US ($70 USD for Canada or $75 USD for the rest of the world, shipping included) will get you a copy of the the game, and you can easily increase your pledge amount to cover any add-on items like Blackwater Gulch miniatures, or the new Villain Packs we hope to unlock with our stretch goals, or extra copies of the core game for a friend.
Simply increase your pledge by the proper amount above to receive your extras when we send your rewards out!
Shipping, Fulfillment, Production & Timeline
We are offering FREE shipping to US backers, and discounted shipping to international backers, the shipping price is included with your pledge or add-on prices. There is no need to add additional funds to your pledge for shipping costs. The core game weighs 3 pounds, which costs us roughly $10 to ship to US backers and $30 for international backers. Since US shipping is free, we give a $10 credit for the rest of the world, and add that right into the cost for the game. The suggested retail price of the game will be $65.
Our expected ship date is December 2015, but we do expect it to ship sooner. We chose this date just in case something goes wrong and holds up the project. After this campaign ends, we will have an additional 6-8 weeks to finalize all artwork and have everything finished by May 1st. After that, the games should take roughly 90 days to arrive at the warehouse. We hope to actually ship in September or October, but, again, we are aiming for December "just in case".
Thank you very much for checking out this project. We truly hope you will join in and help us make this game a reality. Share it with your friends, help get the word out!
Risks and challenges
This is not our first campaign, but likely the most risky because this game won't exist without funding. Our previous campaigns were for miniatures and they can be done with a much smaller budget, but with the printing process we need to order at least 1000 copies, and have them totally finished and shrinkwrapped, then shipped to our warehouse and shipped out to you.
We've done all we can to make the core game as inexpensive as possible while still having top of the line components, and we've planned our delivery date farther than we expect the actual delivery to occur, just to be safe. This worked well on our last campaign that shipped out ahead of schedule, so we hope to repeat that again. And partnering with Game Salute for fulfillment will ensure that your rewards are sent out quickly and worry-free.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
