After months of research and testing we are very excited to introduce Gaming Paper Erasable, an erasable paper (using Quartet Enduraglide Dry Erase Markers) for all types of tabletop gaming. Just like original Gaming Paper, the rolls are 12' long and 30" wide, giving you thirty square feet of gaming surface!
at $3500 we will be making 1" hexes an option! Same cost and reward levels as squares.
Why an Erasable Version of Gaming Paper?
Both online and at conventions, the number one thing we hear as we talk with gamers is the question "is Gaming Paper dry erase?" Until now the answer has always had to be "no, it’s permanent." But thanks to this new printing process, we can now give you a giant sized, reasonably priced alternative to the standard expensive and fragile dry erase mat.
How Does It Work?
Gaming Paper Erasable is wet coated with a new wax mixture—a mixture that does not easily absorb ink, so the surface can be wiped clean with just a little effort, particularly if you use Quartet Enduraglide Dry Erase Markers. We tested many different dry erase brands, colors, and styles and found the Quartet Enduraglide markers looked the best and cleaned off the best. They’re also easy to find, available online and at most office supply stores.
How is This Different than Traditional Gaming Paper?
The paper is white with blue squares rather than the traditional tan color. It’s a little stiffer and also more water resistant. The packaging is different, instead of a tight plastic wrap it is loosely wrapped in plastic (because of the wax treatment, the rolls don't hold up well if put in a high heat shrink tunnel).
How Many Uses Can I Get from Gaming Paper Erasable?
Well, it is paper and the wax coating will break down through repeated use, wiping clean, and reuse. With normal wear and tear, we expect you to get 4-5 uses out of a section of the roll. But each roll has 30 square feet of surface to play with.
How Will the Funds Be Used?
We have printed a small number of Gaming Paper Erasable rolls already and are using those for promotion. The largest portion of the funds will pay for a full print-run of the product.
The next largest cost will be to acquire Quartet Enduraglide markers for the pledge levels that include them.
Finally, shipping is expensive. The remaining moneys will be used to keep the shipping costs as low as possible.
Luckily, the manufacturing, packaging, and shipping do not take long—so we should be able to get rewards to most backers before Christmas! (Just think what a large and impressive stocking stuffer a roll of Gaming Paper Erasable would make!)

Risks and challenges
There are always potential setbacks when starting a new product line—from manufacturing glitches to personnel issues—but we make and distribute Gaming Paper everyday and have done so for several years. We have multiple sources for all supplies, and we’re confident that we can work through any production hiccups to fulfill this Kickstarter on time.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
