Cast Reveals #2 and #3

Hey gamers!

Hope everyone had a fun-filled weekend. Today, continuing on with our cast reveals, I'm introducing you to two of the faces that you'll see in Gaming in Color, the first of which is Colleen Macklin!

Colleen Macklin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Design and Technology at Parsons The New School for Design in New York City, and has a great academic background with games. She is also the Director of PETLab (Prototyping Education and Technology Lab), a lab focused on developing games for experimental learning and social engagement. She is also a member of the game design collective Local No. 12, best known for their card game "The Metagame." Colleen has been actively supporting the queer games movement, and was a featured speaker at QGCon (The Queerness and Games Conference) and the Different Games conference. Colleen brings a unique voice to Gaming in Color, speaking on why games matter, why they are important to culture, and how games can influence us as people and a society. @colleenmacklin

The second person I'm introducing you to today is Shane Cherry!

Shane represents the community man in Gaming in Color. He's best known for his promoter work in organizing parties and events for the NYC Gaymers group, focusing on gaymer nightlife. If there's a gaymer event going on in NYC, Shane Cherry likely has something to do with it. He has experience in games journalism, and occasionally blogs as The Quintessential Gaymer. He also wrote the best-selling playable adventure ever for the Exalted role-playing game , "Contagion of Law". Shane recognizes the importance of having a community built up of geeks that are inviting and not exclusionary, and uses the 'gaymer' term as a common flag for queer geeks to feel comfortable. In Gaming in Color, Shane talks about his experiences growing up as gay AND a geek, and he speaks on what kinds of things we can do today that will help ease the struggles that people like him face. @TQGaymer
