You play as ex-sheriff turned bounty hunter Louis Wesley on the trail of a dangerous outlaw named Butch Colt on the run from justice. You must blast your way through amazing arcade style Wild West levels filled with outlaws and bandits as you try bring colt and his gang to justice.
Players must tap their phone screen to fire Louis’s gun and kill the enemies, but don’t get excited kid…because once an enemy is killed, one of his mates is sure to take his spot. When you run out of bullets you need to hit the on screen bullet chamber to reload your gun.
Tapshot will also feature animated comic book style sequences at the beginning of each level to tell the story, and introduce characters.
The goal of Tapshot is to achieve a high score by shooting down as many of colt’s bandits as possible. Mojo Bluesmen - Whiskey and Women
Tapshot is at it’s a core an arcade level based shooter, When you reach the end of the level you are presented with a score and a breakdown of the level and how you did, kill streaks, headshots etc. Biased on the score and achievements you are presented with a star rating out of 5.
This is where Tapshot really shines, competition.
Our goal with Tapshot is to really engage and connect our gaming community, keep you interested and get you the most bang for your buck. Tapshot contains 3 main connected competitive features:
Cloud log-in and saves
This will enable players to log into their player from any device and take their progress and scores with them…even across platforms! Players will be able to log in via Facebook, twitter or both to allow us to connect you with your friends.
Global and Friend Leaderboards.
Leaderboards offer a way for players to compete in Tapshot, main high score leaderboards will exist for each level, also for each level will be a ‘Friends’ leaderboard that will enable players connected via Facebook and twitter to compete with friends.
The friend’s leaderboard will compare friends biased on score, when a friend beats another friends score they will receive a push notification and a Facebook update to inform them that a friend has beaten their score.
The concept of challenge night really excites us here at gamesyne…challenges will be sent out on a specific night and will appear on the main title screen of the game as a separate icon. Challenges will be sent out via Facebook, twitter and in game via push notification. Players can decide to participate in that nights challenge, such as Toppling a high score or achieving a certain kill streak without getting hit, this will be tracked on special leader boards set up for the challenge. We are really hoping that we can build a community around these challenge night and make them a weekly highlight!
before you all start waving your hands in the air and flipping desks about Facebook log-on and push notifications...Tapshot also has a non-social connected log in to save your progress if you want, and of course all of the above features are opt out.
Progress on Tapshot has steadily increased over the span of the project, we currently have one level complete with another in early production. Our main constraint is purely time to work on the project and get it done.
Most of the core systems are in and working, including the social features and challenges. Kickstarter will help us fund the time to build out the levels and perfect the gameplay, so we can release the best possible game we can.
The game is built entirely in Flash and Adobe Air and is currently targeting Android and iOS, with the view to explore blackberry once we have launched.
Formed in August 2011, Game Synesthesia is an independent video game developer with a goal to create new and original experiences in video games.
Production on Tapshot started in late 2011 as simple proof of concept, since then production has progressed to the point of getting the game relesed and finally finished!
And here lays the biggest hurdle, TIME. I have been working on Tapshot for what seems like an ETERNITY, Being only able to work on the game in my 'spare' time due to stupid life commitments like a full time jobs and the such...
This is where Kickstarter and the wonderful community that is you come in, to help us get Tapshot finally DONE and out the door, and also pick up some sweet rewards!
What will the money be used for?
The money raised from the kickstarter will go towards:
- Funding my time to work on the game
- Buying essential licences and assets
- Funding artwork by our part time artist Aaron
- Providing rewards to backers
Extra money will be put back into the project to make the game even better, and to offer bigger rewards to backers and stretch goals!

Risks and challenges
All projects come with risks, and in the end risks are want makes any creative process worth the effort. Our risks we will face, and have already faced is deadlines. Deadlines are a necessary evil, without them things just don’t seem to get done. They are great for pushing the project along and setting clear goals, but at the same time if the time you have gets blown out on a particular portion of the project that takes longer than expected the project can be placed into serious trouble. If time blows out, money runs out. Simple as that.
On the production of Tapshot we have been sure to leave ample time to compensate for project blowouts, so when that level is just not coming together like it should we have the time and money to go back and make it the best it can possibly be.
