We are delighted to announce that you can now play SteamHammerVR 'The Demo' for free on the HTC Vive and experience our Steampunk world of Victorian London, 1892.
The reason for a Kickstarter campaign is to help us not just make any VR game but to make a totally outstanding game that actually involves the gaming community to ensure it becomes one of the most epic VR experiences of 2016.
Your adventure takes place in Victorian London 1892, but dark deeds are afoot, the streets seem eerily quiet but you are soon to realise why, the dastardly Professor Rattwurm is attempting to enslave the fine English folk with his army of clockwork automatons raging havoc all over town.
Using this new-fangled steam power and some state of the art 19th century gadgetry along with the guidance and expertise of Doctor Obadiah Springhorn you should be more than capable of victory.
As you look around the Springhorn's command centre in the Airship 'Horndenburg' you will see the other weapons which will be at your disposal in the full game, but our demo 'drops' you right into the action and sees you kitted out straight away with three beautiful weapons, the Steam Hammer, the Steam Cannon and the Magnetic Beam.
With some experimentation a little strategy and a modicum of skill you should be able to complete your mission and discover the secret we have hidden...if not you will be hauled back into the 'Hordenburg' for essential suit repairs and you can try again!
One of the most gratifying parts of experiencing the game is the attention to detail in the design, particularly that of the SteamHammer and its various appendages.
We believe you can never have too many trailers, in each of these we reveal a little more about the story, its characters and some early gameplay footage. This playlist is updated regularly.

Risks and challenges
We are planning to distribute SteamHammerVR on the Steam platform and SteamHammerVR Demo is now on Steam, as such this will be the primary channel for distribution, the full game which is scheduled for release on 9th December 2016.
We do also plan to build a version of SteamHammerVR for both PlaystationVR and the Oculus Rift, timescales on this will be dependent on access to the necessary hardware for testing.
We may decide to release the game as 'Early Access' so as not to miss our release deadline, as such further story chapters and missions will be added at no extra cost to those who commit to purchasing the game as pre-order or on release.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
