This is not a genre piece!
The Legends of Sinbad is a new sword-and-sorcery campaign set on Earth in the year 801 C.E.
Inspired by the Harryhausen Sinbad trilogy but based on real-world mythologies, histories, and legends, as well as the tales of the Arabian nights, the game is more than a Prince of Persia tale. As you can see from the map below (which is not yet complete--more cities will be added as development continues), a wide variety of cultures are represented. In this one era, you can find every RPG setting imaginable. You have the Vikings in the Norselands; feudal Europe with the Anglo-Saxon Kingdoms and the Carolingian Empire; wild, druidic barbarians in the Celtic Kingdoms; a classical feel with the Eastern Roman Empire; savage nomadic hordes with the Kazar Khaganate; and Arabic with the Abassid Caliphate.
And each culture brings with it its own monsters from mythology--kraken, gray dwarves, and frost giants in the Norselands; dragons and centaurs in the Carolingian Empire; trolls and ogres in the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms; brownies and banshees in the Celtic kingdoms; gorgons and hydras in the Eastern Roman Empire; and djinn in the Kingdom of the Moors; just to name a few!Of course, there is a lot more to this setting than just the above. This is just a quick note to point out that this setting is not just another Arabic genre piece, but a vibrant, versatile, and unique sword-and-sorcery campaign setting!
The campaign book will be made available in Savage Worlds, and you won't need to buy the Savage Worlds book to play! This will be a complete set!

STRETCH GOAL MAP:
Sinbad and his crew are off on another quest for the Caliph of Baghdad! Setting off from the City of Paradise, their first goal is to visit the haunted ruins of Jerash, the City of Columns (Funding Goal: $1,000). COMPLETED!
Though he lost many of his men, Sinbad and the other survivors escaped the clutches of the gorgon Callidora and snatched The Heart of the Realm, a ruby the size of a troll's heart...
Owned by a wealthy merchant prince originally hailing from the lands of the Franks, the Heart of the Realm was lost during the devastating quake that left the city a shattered ruin. The giant ruby once belonged to a Gallic King nearly 900 years ago but it was lost during Julius Caesar's conquests.
The founder of a newly formed Frankish Empire, a powerful warrior recently crowned Emperor of the Western Roman Empire by the Pope, Charlemagne has grand designs on Europe. Naming his new realm the Carolingian Empire, Charlemagne has committed a great deal of his resources to dragging his lands out of the dark gulf left behind when Rome fell nearly 4 centuries ago.
Sending out knights to destroy the beastly dragons, savage trolls, and brutal ogres that plague the wilds of his lands as well as to search for Christian relics; creating academies throughout his empire to grant wide access to education for all of his subjects, no matter what their social ranks; and creating a powerful administrative network to facilitate a strong, centralized government are but a few of his plans. But despite Charlemagne being crowned by the Pope, many of the Franks still question his divine right to rule all of the Franks.
To that end, Charlemagne has been searching for the Heart of the Realm--a symbol of the Old Kings, hailing from the last time when the Franks--known then as the Gauls--had true independence and freedom. Word of his search has reached the ears of the Caliph of Baghdad, Harun al-Rashid, who has been trying to establish an accord with the powerful western ruler, for it is Harun's fear that Charlemagne will one day join forces with his mortal enemy: The Eastern Roman Empire, currently under the rule of the Empress Regent Irene of Athens, who has increased attacks against his lands in an effort to appease her political opponents.
After learning the Heart of the Realm lie in the ruins of Jerash, the Caliph sent for his best treasure hunter: Sinbad! Now that Sinbad has succeeded, his next stop is to get to the coast, charter a ship, and head to Cyprus, where his own ship is currently docked, along with a replacement crew to join him and the other handful of survivors (Stretch Goal: $2,000).
Stay tuned for a continuation of this story as we reach more of our stretch goals!!!

Risks and challenges
We've already invested a lot of our own time, energy, and money into this project, but we need a little help to see it through. Printing books, finishing the art orders, and getting more creative people onboard is something that you can help with by supporting this project.
The greatest challenge we face is community involvement. We can write pretty much anything we want, but that's not our goal--our goal is to create fantastic, well-playtested, and well-designed products. We want to create a strong community foundation from which to spring these fantastic game lines, so after pledging, please visit our forums over at www.gamesmithsllc.com and be part of the creative process!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
