You've survived the dungeon... You've slain the dragon... Now what are you gonna do with all this loot?
Pack the Pack is a simultaneous action, tile matching game for gamers of any age.
Three to six players draw five face down loot tile from the horde in the center. When the leader yells "PACK!" players race to fit the loot into their backpack. By cleverly aligning treasure you can chain gems together and maximize the value of your take.
Can't fit it in your bag? Fine. Yell "JUNK" and toss it back; but now you must draw two tiles to cover the shame of your finickiness. When you're satisfied with your haul shout "TO TOWN" and sell off your prize booty for filthy lucre. Be quick though, if you are left stuffing your sack when the second to last player heads home, you'll be stuck with the dregs of the treasure heap and command the worst prices from the loot flooded market.

Each player selects a Character Pack and places it face up in front of them. Spread out the 88 Treasure tiles face down within easy reach to create the Treasure Hoard. Each player pulls 5 random Treasure tiles from the Hoard and keeps them face down in front of them.
When all players are ready shout "PACK!" and flip over the five tiles in front of you. Place your tiles in your pack and arrange them to form complete gems of matching colors. When a player has fit all their Treasure in their pack they may pull a new tile from the Hoard. At anytime during play a player may send a tile back to the Hoard, face up, by shouting "JUNK!" and pulling two new tiles from the Hoard. When a player has enough Treasure so that any 3 sides of the Pack are touched by tiles they may shout "TO TOWN!" and place any unpacked tiles down. You may not make any further adjustments to your Pack after you have headed back to town. When the second to last player at the table shouts "TO TOWN!" the remaining player must stop play.
Each player earns points based on the number and complexity of gems they have completed. The more facets you have in each gem, the more points they are worth. Additionally, bonus points are awarded to the players who make it back to town the fastest.

For advanced packers there are a number of variant scoring rule sets to deepen the strategy of the game.
We are coming to Kickstarter to raise the funds for the first printing of Pack the Pack. Due to the high material cost of the game we need place a production order of a significant quantity (1000+) before it becomes viable to sell for a reasonable price. Kickstarter allows us to raise the capital upfront while simultaneously ensuring that the market demand for the game exists.

tl:dr - The cost of the game manufacture + Art + Freight to our Cobra Terror Drome in rural New Hampshire = ~$18. Add Development & Playtesting + Marketing Campaign + shipping to each backer + KS/Amazon cut and we hit ~$35. we are shooting for an MSRP of $40. So Kickstarter backers are getting a price cut on the game AS WELL AS free domestic shipping.

10 double sided player character sheets. One side with the base game and the reverse with advanced rules and scoring for experienced packers.

Pack the Pack went through five distinct versions with numerous iterations in each of those versions before it got to where it is today. With each revision value was added to the game and this growth helped us work out new fun mechanics. Each made it look like a totally different game while retaining the core concept.
In our design mind, we know that it has always been the same game. That scrambling to stuff your sack with loot getting the most money for your trouble was the key. The founders of GPD have 20 years combined experience in print and production. We are confident that we will be able to quickly and accurately create all necessary files for the manufacturing and are fully capable of tackling any production challenges that are encountered mid-stream. Games by Play Date has successfully completed and shipped Kickstarter based projects before. From that experience we have tightened up our fulfillment process and learned to pad our promised delivery date.
