Because Rocket Dice are cool, they should have a cool place to live. So, I present the Rocket Dice Bag by Greyed Out Productions. This handmade bag is roomy, stands up on it's own, and has a double drawstring to make it easy to close. Greyed Out screen prints all of their cloth by hand and this retro-future rocketship design was inspired by the Rocket Dice project. I'm very pleased to offer the Rocket Dice Bag as an exclusive add-on available ONLY through this Kickstarter project. It will never be available in this color combination (Kickstarter-Green with White Screen Printing) anywhere else.
Because Alien Frontiers is such a wonderful game, you might want to pick up an extra copy or two for your friends or your game club. Well, we've got you covered there too. Check out these Alien Frontiers add-ons.
We also have several pledge levels designed to get your current copy of Alien Frontiers all tricked-out with Rocket Dice. We've also got pledge levels bundled with copies of Alien Frontiers if you're just now finding out about this amazing game.
Rocket Dice are perfect for Alien Frontiers, but they're not JUST for Alien Frontiers. Rocket Dice can be used with ANY space game that uses standard six-sided dice.
The rocket dice concept has been bouncing around in my head for a year or two, now, ever since I picked up a copy of Battle Ball at the thrift store and saw their football-shaped D6. A rocket isn't too different in shape.
The prototypes shown in the video above were made from a 3D sculpture by Greg and Dann May. I sketched out the design drawing above and they turned out several variations as 3D renders. The fins were the hardest part to nail down stylistically; they had to stay out of the way when the dice were rolling and they had to look like a retro-future spaceship. Once we had the fins locked down, Dann and Greg suggested the forward windows and it was a great addition! We had a die shape that was functional, thematic, and had lots of character.
The next step was to turn the 3D renders in to physical objects. 3D printing offered the best solution to the task at hand. Since we also produce the Blackwater Gulch miniatures, we enlisted the help of our 3D vendor, jasonwiresproductions.com. Jason printed six dice for us and painted five of them in the Alien Frontiers colors. He didn't paint the pips, though, so I colored them in with a sharpie. So, don't complain about how the pips look bad. These are just the prototypes and the pips on the real dice will be professionally done.
Speaking of Professionally done, we will use Panda Games Manufacturing to make these dice if the Kickstarter project is successful. It's possible that the final product may be slightly different than the prototypes shown here, but Panda has done lots of dice and plastics for us and we're sure they'll do a great job on these Rocket Dice.
This project launched with only the dream of making Rocket Dice with Pips, but when the backers blew through all of my stretch goals in a little over one day, I had to come up with new ideas. Based on backer comments, I've added "Fudge Dice", also known as "Fate Dice" which are used in several RPG systems. Then, when you unlocked all 12 colors of Fudge Dice, I added Numeral Dice. Now you've unlocked all 12 Numeral Dice, you're working on the RPG Dice. You people are GREAT!

Risks and challenges
We run campaigns for tons of games and many of them include custom dice, so we have a good handle on what it takes to make custom dice, but this is our first "dice only" project and only our second "game accessory" project. That said, we have no doubts about our ability to carry through on this project and deliver a top-notch product that you're going to love using.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
