The Chamberlain is searching the realm for a new royal craftsman and sets a contest for all of the smiths and crafters in the land. The first one to forge four items from a list of the King's favorite weapons and trinkets will be honored as King's Forge. But watch out, because the other crafters and smiths will try to outdo you at every opportunity. Are you ready to forge your destiny?
In King's Forge, players are craftsmen and craftswomen seeking to become the favorite of the King. The variety of dice represent the raw materials (metal, wood, gems, and magic) and those same dice can be used to gather new dice and purchase roll-modifiers, or saved and rolled in an attempt to meet the requirements to craft the items on the King's list. An early lead is not a sure path to victory and other players will out-maneuver and out-build you whenever possible. Careful dice management, advance planning, fierce competition, and nail-biting luck will carry you to into the Royal Court as the new King's Forge!
Coming up with a game takes a lot of brain power and a lot of time, but getting quality artists and graphic designers to turn your game into a professional product and then printing thousands of copies for eager gamers takes a lot of money. A couple of small rule clarifications from the video above. (about 6 minutes into the video) If a die is increased above 6 when you craft, the value of that die drops back to 6 at the end of your turn. Boosting a die above 6 allows you the chance to steal a crafted item and dropping back to 6 allows the next player to try and steal that same item from you.
Also (about 32 minutes into the video) to steal a crafted item, the opponent must roll at least equal to all of your dice AND at least one of the opponent's dice must be BETTER than one of your dice. So, Tim rolled a 6/6/5 and Carmen rolled a 7/7/4. She beat two of Tim's dice, but the third die was less than Tim's third die, so she was NOT able to steal the crafted item.

Gathering King's Forge
To keep the shipping costs as low as possible, we ship packages via a variety of shipping services depending on your specific location. We use USPS, FedEx, UPS, and DHL. You will be responsible for any import fees, brokerage or delivery surcharges, or applicable taxes that may be levied after we have shipped your package.

Risks and challenges
As we enter the crowdfunding phase, King's Forge is still in the art production phase. Jonathan is working hard to finish the card art while Dann and Cody are working on the graphic design. Also, certain stretch goals will require additional art if we fund at those levels, so we have set an extended delivery date to be on the safe side. Every game project is subject to potential production delays, but we believe we've allowed enough wiggle-room for King's Forge The final challenge is getting the game and rewards out to the backers.
