About this project
Welcome to Farlight Station!
Join us in the not-too-distant future, where adventurous and industrious men and women set out to explore and expand their influence into newly-discovered and uncharted areas of space. In Farlight, you play as an entrepreneur engaged in (mostly) friendly competition against corporations, academics, and enthusiasts, all looking to be the first to discover the wonders that await beyond.
To get there, you'll build your own spacecraft from the ground-up, balancing power and efficiency to handle the myriad of missions you'll take on. You might find yourself making scientific breakthroughs, constructing new deep-space facilities, or transporting brave colonists to settle the untamed reaches of our solar system. But whatever the mission, you'll need both speed and savvy in order to best your rivals and forge the future of these faraway stars.
Welcome to the world of Farlight!
Like Nick Sibicky's other much-loved game King's Forge, Farlight is easy to learn but also has many interesting decisions and interactions, designed with streamlined play and extensive replay value in mind. Read on for more information, and we'll be posting more throughout the campaign.
In this Kickstarter, we're hoping to get enough support to print the game. As a thank you to supporters, we are offering the game at a discount price, along with some extra goodies we hope to unlock in the form of stretch goals.
A game of Farlight proceeds through a number or rounds, each with three phases: Bidding, Assembly and Launch. For all the details, check out the draft rulebook above.
We'll be featuring videos and updates going into more details on the game during the campaign.
How to Play
Tabletopia Version is Live and Free to Play!
Feel free to click the following image and head over to Tabletopia to try out the game, or simply play around with the virtual components! There are a few little differences between the physical game and the digital one, but you'll more than get the idea.
The Technology of Farlight Station
Farlight Station is also home to teams of independent engineers and designers producing a range of vital components in the quest for space. This technology is of course much sought after by everyone! Let us take you through just a few exciting new technological advances...
The Design and Testing of Farlight
The designer of Farlight, Nick Sibicky is also the designer of one of our favorite games, King's Forge. Nick is actually one of our favorite designers full stop, not only for his well-oiled and elegant designs, but for his ability to teach and discuss his designs in interesting ways. So we're very happy that Nick will be part of this Kickstarter campaign, and share his thoughts (and tips) on the game through comments, updates and videos. If you see him in the comments be sure to say hi!
Nick has been working on Farlight for over two years, and so when it came to us at Game Salute, the game play was already in a very polished condition. We worked with Nick on the theme, to tighten a few screws and added some frills. We also came up with a name. Nick's original working title was "Project Eos", and for a brief time we were considering "Star Forge" as a reference to Nick's other game with us, but we found another video game with that title and thus Farlight was born, which we are all very happy with.

Risks and challenges
The team at Game Salute has delivered hundreds of successful Kickstarter campaigns including our own published titles and those we've helped independent publishers run and fulfill.
While printing, shipping, and processing delays are always a possibility, we have set a reasonable delivery date based on our experience.
We're so confident that you'll enjoy this updated version of Farlight that we're backing it up with our Game Salute Guarantee. If you don't enjoy the game after you've received and played it, just send it back to our headquarters and we'll issue you a full refund, no questions asked.
Sometimes people may want to cancel their pledge after the campaign has ended, and that’s fine too. We can handle this for you – all we need is for you to email Support@GameSalute.com with your Kickstarter username and full real name. Please note: when we receive your funds, we only receive around 90% of what you paid thanks to various fees and charges, so whatever your pledge was you’ll get it back less 10% to cover those charges.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
