The cards are the best quality Ivorycore playing card stock, the dice are genuine Square Shooters® dice. Everything's upgraded right from the start, and ALL our bonus Gunslingers are now unlocked!
Yup, that's right, there are actually TWO games in this box. A mano-y-mano duel in the dusty main street of a wild west town is one thing, but what about gangs of lawmen and outlaws shooting it out in a frenzied barrage for control of that dusty town? Guess what, 9-Shooter Ambush is exactly what you're looking for.
9-Shooter Ambush (9SA) starts with a Desperado (player 1). He picks four of his best gunslingers and sets three of them in among the boulders with a clear shot at the trail below and one lies low as a backup. Meanwhile, the Sheriff (player two) picks five cowboys to be his posse. Three of them ride out front looking for the bandits and two hang back...just in case.
When the posse get into range, the bandits start shooting and the posse runs for cover. From then on it's a pitched battle with bullets flying everywhere and lawmen and gunslingers dropping like flies.
Well, that's all real poetic and all, but how does it really play?
The players each put three cowboys out on the table. The Desperado gets a fourth cowboy to hold back in reserve and the Sheriff get two extras to hold back.
The good new for the Desperado, though, is that he gets the first roll for free. This is an Ambush, after all. He rolls all nine of his Square Shooters® dice and puts a wound token on every card face in the Sheriff's posse that matches a rolled die face. Each die can only match with one card face and once a card face has a wound token, that same face can't be wounded again. When the Desperado's marked all the wounds he can, he picks all of his dice up and rolls again, but now the Sheriff's posse is ready so he starts rolling his nine dice, too.
The Sheriff and Desperado keep doing that--roll, match, wound--roll, match, wound--just as fast as they can until one cowboy gets all five dice faces covered and the shooter calls BANG! Play stops immediately, the killed cowboy card gets flipped over, and then both players grab their dice and keep on rolling. Pause after each cowboy dies and when one player has all three of his cowboys killed, the other player is the winner.
If you're an expert and are ready to use those action cards, you'll see that they have a text line that tells how each card works in 9SA. Give each player 5 random action cards at the start of the game. Starting in round 2, before anyone rolls dice, the Sheriff reveals one of his cards, then the Desperado picks a card and reveals it, then the Sheriff can play a Quick Shot card if he wants to. In round 3, the Desperado reveals first, then the Sheriff reveals first in round 4, and so on. The players only have those 5 cards so once they're gone, they're gone. Use them wisely.
Oh, remember those "reserve cowboys" I mentioned a while back? Those only come into play if you use a GAMBLE action card. When you do, you can remove one of your wounded cowboys from the fight and put in one of the fresh reserve cowboys. The Sheriff has an edge here, because he has two reserves, but does he have two GAMBLE cards to get them into the fight???

Risks and challenges
This should be a straightforward campaign to deliver; the dice are already made, the art is complete, and all that remains is to print a deck of cards and ship it all to you.
Game Salute has done over 170 successful Kickstarter campaigns including our own published titles and those we've helped independent publishers run and fulfill.
While shipping and processing delays are always a possibility, we have set a conservative delivery date that allows time to handle difficulties when they arise. Of course, should games arrive before the estimated delivery date, we will send them out as soon as we receive them.
We're so certain that you'll enjoy 9-Shooter Quick Draw that we're backing it up with our Game Salute Guarantee.
Now, sometimes life happens and a few people will want to cancel their pledge after the campaign has ended, and that’s fine too. We can handle this for you – all we need is for you to email Service@GameSalute.com with your username, real name, and the Amazon Payments Transaction ID that’s in the email you’ll receive after your money is collected when the campaign closes. Please note: when we receive your funds, we only receive around 85% of what you paid thanks to various fees and charges, so whatever your pledge was you’ll get it back less 15% to cover those charges. Remember that you’re also able to cancel your pledge at any time during the campaign, so if you're not sure that you really want this or can't afford it at present, then this campaign may not be for you. It would be best to get a copy later through your favorite game store!
