Dealers duel is a turn based card game where players go head to head combat trading attacks in attempt to expand their kingdom and fill their treasury. The game can be played with up to 4 opponents, heroic bouts of 1 v 1, in cooperative teams of 2 v 2 or in a frantic frenzy of 1 v 1 v 1 v 1!
Want a more in depth look, here is a complete break down of the entire game using solitaire decks. Start playing at home tonight!
The game uses a battle system that is easy to pick up for new table top players and those more familiar with standard mechanics of most card games. Themes of the old European Tarot card decks put an old classic twist on the current gameplay. The Game itself comes in two versions: Print n Play and Deluxe. The 135 card Print n Play PDF version contains Jokers, Aces and all the familiar faces including old forgotten cards like the Humble Page (P).
As many know, the current universal solitaire deck has a rooted history with older European Tarot decks. The suits today themselves have twin suits from old: Hearts to Cups, Spades to Swords, Diamonds to Coins, and Clubs to Wands. These suits, along with the addition of the Major Arcana Moon suit, are the 9 kingdoms you will choose to champion at the start of the game. 135 cards (142 cards in Tarok Tarok : Dealers Duel Deluxe) broken up into 9 classical suits: Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, Spades, Swords, Wands, Cups, Coins & Moons.
All cards are first blindly divided into equal player decks called armories. From an initial 13 card hand, players deploy powerful heroes to defend their kingdom in their quest for expansion. Knock out enemy heroes by dealing attacks and cast spells to strengthen your defenses. Each hero has a different passive ability that changes the way your turn unfolds, allowing you to draw additional cards or discard left over enemy attacks. Combo powerful attacks and spells to string your turn for as long as you can! When the battlefield is empty and you are the one left standing, use your turn to fill your treasures. A winning hand can finish your expansion in as few cards as possible.
The victor is determined from the best of 3 rounds. Each round can last anywhere from 15 -45 mins. Matches can quickly become grueling slug-fests in bitter battles that can go for an hour plus, but there are ways to win within a few plays so strategy is key. May the hands of fate deal death to your enemies!
The 15 Page Print n Play PDF document comes with an attached rule book and prints out the entire game, 9 cards per page.
Cut, Glue & Doodle the suits on and you are good to go.
The Deluxe version will be Manufactured by PrintNinja on 280gsm card stock and will include all the cards from the pdf version plus an additional 22 Major Arcana Cards with specialty foil stamping. The game comes in a tuck box and includes a small 8 page rule booklet.

I really love this game and I want to make a digital version. While the main rewards of the stretch goals of this campaign have been to update and revamp the artwork and design of your physical game, I want to take the game play to the next level. In a mobile game there are more ways to manipulate the game play and make it even more dynamic. There will be talent trees to affect your chance to draw certain cards, chances to shuffle the deck after playing pairs or spells, Changing the way a cards ability works... the possibilities are endless. With this Stretch Reward include full access to the Mobile app Version, you will receive such as redeemable XP boost character to unlock your character's Tarot Talents, in game rupee package based on what you pledged as well as a special in game exclusive item for being a part of the kickstarter release.
I come from a family of card players. Of all the games we played growing up, the one we played the most was an old game called "Oh Heck" and simple put it is a multiplayer version of solitaire. The game has everyone play with a separate solitaire decks in a mad dash to play all their cards off of anyones aces in the middle of the table. The game can be played with as many players as you have cards, but they all need to have different card backs so you can track your points. The more people playing the more cards and the crazier the games. As I grew up I started to play other table top games like Pokemon, and MtG, and I became obsessed with trying to find the ultimate move, the best unbeatable combo. I loved how every hero every card every ability was so different and dynamic. This game aims to bridge the gap between those two experiences. A table top gameplay that is as dynamic as it is easy to pick up and play and where every game is different.
Risks and challenges
This is my first Kickstarter and so every step has been a new challenge. Looking forward, I feel there is so much to discover first hand that I can't get focused on worrying, rather than addressing and solving when I live through it. Like any good table top player, I have to roll with it! .. Wait come back! ahem... Having said that, humbly, I beg of you please be patient. I only want to deliver the best this can be. I believe you will enjoy dealers duel as a fun game for family reunions, beer nights, and I know you'll have fun, but the weight of that fun rests on me delivering your game in a professional matter.
There are many things that could potentially affect this project, but three major obstacles are currently present.
1. The Printable PDF - This will ultimately be the same PDF I use to send to the printer so It will be a high-res version of the game. I need to ensure locked formatting so that when you get the copy you just have to print it, no tinkering required. A secure delivery method is also something I need to lock in stone.
2. The Game - The Final version of the Game will be handled by the Awesome team @ PrintNinja! Obviously, there will need to be some quality control to make sure that I deliver the best image possible to ensure the cards are within the bleed and cut boundaries.
3. Shiping - The Final Frontier - As this is my first Kickstarter all small order shipping will need to be handled mostly by myself. Painstaking calculations involving shipping cost have been part of production budgeting since the beginning, so my only major concern is timely delivery. Looking ahead, If I am able to sell 1000 copies can call in the professionals and have a service make sure everything goes out in good time.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
