Help us support musicians and local fans alike by hosting G263's first Folk Fest!!! October 21 to 23, 2011.
Gallery 263 is an established nonprofit art space in Cambridge MA that supports a wide range of artists through exhibits, workshops, residencies and intimate concerts. Word has spread about G263 as an alternative DIY venue in Boston, drawing local and touring bands to come play. We are ready to celebrate rising talent in a big way---by hosting Gallery 263's first ever Folk Fest!!!
This THREE DAY Fest will feature 11 acts--hopefully to be announced over the course of this Kickstarter project. A few of the wonderful musicians that we already know will be joining us are Billy Wylder, Small Houses (MI), and The Whiskey Boys (Jamaica Plain, MA). The performances will be for an intimate audience where no one is further than 25 feet from the stage! Check out the updates to see videos of the musicians and prototypes of our Kickstarter Folk Fest designs. Updates as they come!
Where the funds will go to:
- the musicians
- spreading the word
Because it will be such an intimate festival, ticket sales and sponsors will not cover these essential costs. To move forward with this event, we must know that the musicians will be paid, and paid fairly. This is where we need your help!!
As a thank you for putting on the festival with us, we have a series of rewards just for our kickstarter backers! We will design and print silkscreen Folk Fest postcards, tote bags, posters, and t-shirts. We also offer recordings, live web stream of the festival, weekend passes and use of Gallery 263 space! If you would like to forgo the rewards and give a straight donation, Gallery 263 is a federally recognized nonprofit and donations are tax deductible.
Please help us make this festival a reality! Thank you for checking out our project and we hope to see you at the Folk Fest.
