About this project
Who could be desperate enough to sign his life away for five long years? Desperate enough to take a job hauling volatile and hazardous cargo to the most dangerous places in the galaxy? Planets where the very air is a corrosive acid. Planets where the locals might cut your throat just so they can turn you into a nice steak. Planets where petty thugs and warlords are engaged in constant running gun battles and you’re just as likely to catch a blaster shot in the skull as get a signed delivery manifest. You are, that’s who. Welcome to Bulldogs!
Bulldogs! is a high action space opera tabletop role-playing game using the Fate Core system. You take the role of a Bulldog, a person so desperate they've signed on to deliver high-risk cargo to the most dangerous parts of the galaxy. Play as one of the alien species we've created for you, or build your own. Can you reach the end of your contract or will you be another casualty in the space-lanes? This Kickstarter is to fund the new Fate Core edition of Bulldogs!, as well as several other extras to enhance your play experience.
Bulldogs! Fate Core Edition
Bulldogs! is a tabletop role-playing game of high action sci-fi adventure. Bulldogs! uses the Fate rules set from Evil Hat Productions, and they have published a new edition called Fate Core. Mark Diaz Truman [Fate Codex, Our Last Best Hope] and Brendan Conway [Last Days of Anglekite] of Magpie Games are updating the Bulldogs! rules to bring them in line with Fate Core, and to streamline a few of the rules from the older Bulldogs! Fate edition. The changes are pretty exciting and will make Bulldogs! even better than it was before! The new rules are already in playtest and you will get a draft copy as soon as we reach the Beta test stage.
Heart of the Fury
Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan [The Darkening of Mirkwood, The Laundry RPG] has written an all-new campaign-length adventure series for Bulldogs! called Heart of the Fury. This campaign will take your Bulldogs! crew through of series of inter-related adventures over multiple sessions for a longer story arc and deeper character development. Your crew will investigate The Fury, a strange new group expanding in the Frontier Zone, conquering worlds and threatening the entire system that employs your Bulldogs.
Ryan Macklin [Mythender, Fate Core] adds some strange powers to the Bulldogs! galaxy, powers gained by the criminals held on a penal planet when a cosmic event occurs. Add these powers to your existing campaign or create an entire campaign focusing on the story of these characters, or the shadowy government agency that hunts them.
Extra Reward! SpaceNoir is a complete Transmission for the TechNoir game by Jeremy Keller, adding the Bulldogs! galaxy as a playable setting. SpaceNoir is written by Brian Engard, co- author of the first edition of Bulldogs! Fate.

Extra Reward! A Bulldogs!-themed Fiasco playset by Krista White [KristaCon] and Brennan Taylor [Bulldogs! Fate]. Play Fiasco in the Bulldogs! galaxy, bringing all the dysfunction and chaos of a typical Bulldogs! game into the chaos and dysfunction of a typical Fiasco session. If Bulldogs! isn’t a Fiasco, we don’t know what is.
All five of the primary rewards are already in first draft status at minimum. Bulldogs! Fate Core edition is in alpha playtest, and we plan to reach a beta test status during the campaign. We will loop you, the backers, into the playtest once we have a beta version of the rules prepared. We hope you will have a chance to let this hit the table and give us some feedback before we go to final print edition. Our goal is to have all of the primary rewards finished and delivered in electronic format by August of this year.
The print edition of the Bulldogs! Fate Core edition rulebook will be delivered in October. We will be producing a hardcover book with a full color interior, just as we did for first edition Bulldogs! Fate.
Delays may happen! This is our plan, and we will keep you updated on progress as we finish the work on these projects. We always strive to deliver the best possible product to our backers, and this may mean we end up a bit late. We prefer a late delivery to a half-assed product, and we hope you share our priorities.
Brennan Taylor, Project Lead
The prime force behind Galileo Games is Brennan Taylor, author of Bulldogs! d20 edition and co-author of Bulldogs! Fate edition. Brennan’s role in the project is managing the Kickstarter campaign, layout and art direction on the final project, and general line management for the Bulldogs! series of products. He will take a role as an author of some of the products and stretch goals as well. He’s had years of experience in the role-playing industry and has run several successful Kickstarters before. All of these delivered on the final product, despite some delays.
Jeremy Morgan, Editor & Project Manager
Our editor and project manager is Jeremy Morgan, an experienced RPG editor that's worked on multiple projects from publishers like Ginger Goat, Eldritch Fire Press, and Encho Chagas. He's wearing two hats -- the first to keep the project on track, the second wrangling authors and their words into the most badass form possible.

Risks and challenges
The rewards have all already been written and are in the process of editing. The next steps are layout and art. These products will be produced, the main risk is delays.
Any big project like this can run into delays and unexpected stumbling blocks and we’ve tried to factor in a good buffer to our estimated delivery dates. However, things happen. Sometimes freelancers miss deadline, sometimes a lot of editing is required, or a new source for production needs to be found. These all cause unexpected delays. We’ve had projects fall far behind deadline before, but we have always delivered our rewards in the end.
There is also the risk of illness or other catastrophe. Luckily, we have multiple managers on this project, and either Brennan or Jeremy can step in if the other is incapacitated. We can also find replacements for any project members who drop out. This, of course, would be pretty disruptive and could slow things down significantly.
We will do our best to keep you abreast of the progress of all projects, especially if any of these circumstances befall our work.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
