The map size depends upon the results from the Gaia satellite. Gaia can see a small number of very bright stars very far away but most of the stars are within 5 to 6 thousand parsecs (about 15 to 20 thousand light years) so this will be the radius of the map. This is a very large part of the Milky Way - much of the galaxy on this side of the galactic bar.
