Exclusive predator on the prowl!

Greetings Knights!

Yesterday you really did a great job and moved the campaign forward like a battle rig ramming everything in its path! The counter keeps rising, and we are closing to the exclusive BIG BOX that will hold all the Stretch Goals and Add-ons (if you choose to take them) together. Many knights have changed into real Veterans of the Waste, and we thank you so much for this!

You are also very close to unlocking the BoardGameGeek social SG, with around 70 more people needed to reach it. We really encourage you to become Fans of the game, as the Painsaw thirsts for blood of your enemies! Plus being on BGG, you are always up-to-date with all things that every gamer loves!

Another thing we are very proud of – you have unlocked the Facebook social SG for a new enemy of your making, and you have left a lot of great comments and ideas that would help us choose. We have had a heated discussion and we have a winner… but you will learn more in a couple of days – Tomasz Ściolny, one of our artists, is already working on it! Additionally, some suggestions you have made regarding the enemy will surely find their way into the game as they are simply too good to forget about them!

Now, it’s time to look ahead. Once you deal with the BIG BOX, you have two more SGs to strive for. The closer one is comprised of 6 General Upgrade cards. It provides you with even more options to expand your knights. When you gain a proper number of Experience Points, instead of choosing a card from your dedicated character deck, you may search the General Upgrades deck and take a card from it. That is a smart way to make up for some weaknesses or gain a unique ability you would never have access to otherwise. With 6 double-sided cards, it means you may choose between 12 different upgrade options!

Right after that, you can glimpse someone prowling the shadows… You have asked for a female character, and there she is: Jenny Burns, the Huntress! She unerringly stalks her prey, striking when her target least expects it. Her aim is always true, and her knowledge of the wild has no match, even among veteran survivors. Along with her knight sheet, a detailed miniature, and a set of 4 unique upgrade cards, she will surely make a great addition to your collection. Especially that she will be the exclusive KS content for all of you backing the game! We feel you can reach this SG in no time and enjoy hours of gameplay with Jenny as your character of choice.

This is it for the moment. We wish to thank you again for your immense help, and let’s get those SGs!

See you in the Waste!

Please keep the sculpture as it is. The neo-puritans feminists trying to turn every girl in the games as "boring non sexy hags" will turn me out of the game.
Those who call for REALISM are looking in the bad place, we are talking about a Mad-Max apocalypse, with nukes, pests, genetics freaks, cyborgs, and all kind of unrealistic stuff just for the FUN

Another point I would concede however is that on these occasions it would not be rare for the men to get around with no shirt on whatsoever (I'm not wearing one now), and we don't have any sculpts like this I think? So kinda see your point. Like you said, doesn't really matter either way. ;)

And I don't find it sexualized (maybe some do?) it just is what it is, I'm so used to seeing it. You are more likely to hunt for this man if you use a good pie as bait.

In the past Hunting (Pigs, goats, rabbits, roos, ferals) is something a few of us, men and women, have done together and this would most certainly occur. I will concede the sports, combat and dance. (We don't wear a special getup when we would go hunting)

Rob I respectfully disagree with the stated realistic circumstances of sleeveless tops. Certain loose fabric straps can fall, but that is not what thank tops do on a regular basis, specially not if the person is dressed and prepared for hunting, sports, dance or combat. It is more realistic for both straps to be on than for one strap to be sliding off her straight shoulder. I am fine with the sculpt being sexualized this way, the model has more sex appeal than the art, which is a rare switch-a-roo. My preference, as originally voiced, is for a more comfortable and competent hunting pose where her top is fully functional and in place. That being said, it is not a big deal in my opinion, she can 'hunt for man' better that way.

The reason I like the 'strap off shoulder' is because it's realistic. Up here in the Qld heat I see this happen to women in sleeveless tops all the time, especially when they're busy. Happens to my wife (right shoulder) even when she's just at her craft table doing sewing or whatever strange mysticism it is she gets up to. Nothing to fear, nothing ever unexpectedly pops out, it's just more often than not one of the straps will be off shoulder. They put it back up, five minutes later it's back down again.

@Game Inquisitor Thank you for the suggestions. We will certainly consider this and ask our illustrators about some ideas regarding that!

      Galakta,

Good point in reference to some of the cards being more text heavy. However, solutions there could be to make a smaller sketch near the bottom left edge of the main canvas of the card with the text description block shaped around the illustration with a slightly shorter card title banner box. So long as the rest of outer edge border graphics for the cards stay consistent, the main canvas area of each card can still be balance formatted in ways that fit a more appealing illustrative sketch which visually summarizes each card's upgrade effect.

-You bet it'll be really cool to have the option to purchase an extra box with every mini! You should be able to list such an option as an add-on with a minimum purchase quantity requirement, sort of like a separate campaign within the main campaign. On top of that you could also list a painted option as well. Will definitely pay any premium for a separate official box set of fully painted minis! 💰😝🔗📦🖌

@Game Aquisitor Thatnk you for the idea of sketches. We will keep that in mind. However, many upgrade cards are text heavy, the Herbalist is actually one of the shortest ones. Sometimes they bear icons or slots for placing certain tokens, sometimes they feature skill dice and then we might end up with inconsistent layout.
Regarding separate miniature box - a few people actually asked about a separate mini set, so we will consider this idea. Thank you!

      Now THAT's a stretch goal. 🤠

Galakta, all of the upgrade cards (general as well as those specific to each character) come off a bit bland looking, just having text descriptions and simple small inline text icons. It seems many of them also have a lot of open space in the descriptive text sections. Please consider adding some rugged looking sketch art (styled like that from the pages of the Outback Chronicles notebook) illustrating the upgrade effects. The illustrations would help add a more engaging emotive effect to their function. For example, the Herbalist upgrade card shown in this update could have a sketch of a plant being dug up or Jenny's Beast Mistress upgrade card could have a sketch of Jenny's strong forearm locking in a reload for her machine gun.

      - Please also make available an add-on that allows purchasing a separate box with every mini included. Painted and unpainted mini versions of such box kits would rule! 🗡🛒😆

@All Regarding the model - OK, it's 3 to 1 then ;-) Regarding the sleeves - it has been brought to our attention. We will do our best to make them fit.

I truly hope that the big box will fit card sleeves. So many beautiful inserts have been discarded because they do not properly fix card sleeves. :\

@All Thank you for your comments. We are very glad you like the SGs!
Regarding the timing - we uploaded the update on the verge of the SGs, hence the Big Box comment. But here it is!
Jenny's model - OK, our sculptors will have a final look at her!
General Updates - we will this is quite enough, usually you get 2-3 upgrades per 1 adventure run so they should last for quite a while. Considering how many characters there will be you really get lots of combinations.

Jenny Burns is a nice upgrade, but the General Upgrades are a really great idea!! This will make each game much more different and as a player you will be encouraged to test out new tactics. But, will 12 general upgrades be enough?
How many upgrades do you estimate a character will get during a small campaign?
Perhaps you could consider adding more general upgrades?

+1 for general upgrade cards (any chance of another example?!)

+1 for new survivor (like the look of her and will help balance the gender cap others have had concerns with. also selfishly like that it's KSE!)

-1 for "closing to the exclusive big box" (that sucker was already closed!)

+5 because i really want to play this game...
