World of Warcraft: Coming Very Soon!

Hey Everyone,

Things are picking up steam around here as we gear up to release the FINAL book of Season 2, World of Warcraft by Daniel Lisi. This may be just what you need to wash the taste of the Warcraft movie out of your mouth.

As always, this means that if you've moved, please UPDATE YOUR ADDRESS as soon as possible. ("Hey," you may be saying, "I'm in good shape because I backed Season 3 and filled out a new survey." NOPE. Our Season 2 mailing list and our Season 3 mailing list are completely separate.)

Just log in to Kickstarter and go here. Find Boss Fight Season 2, click on the area under the “Reward” column, and change your address.

Also, if you missed the Season 3 Kickstarter, you can pre-order Season 3 via Paypal. I'd do it sooner rather than later -- we'll be sending out early copies of Super Mario Bros. 3 before you know it.

I can't wait for you all to read WoW. I think you'll really enjoy this one.

Yours,

Gabe / Boss Fight

Season 3 Kickstarter is Live! (+ StoryBundle, WoW, & More)

Hi Everybody,

We wanted you to be first to know: Boss Fight's Season 3 Kickstarter has just launched! So excited to share these books with you. We're hoping to fund the writing, printing, and delivery of five new books. If you've enjoyed our current titles, please consider jumping in and funding the new season so we can keep making these books.

This time, we're also teaming up with StoryBundle for the first All-Boss Fight eBook Bundle. For a short time, you can get ebook copies of the first ten books in our series for just $15. So if there are any holes in your collection, now's the time to get ten books (plus our anthology) for the price of three ebooks.

But before the next season, we will of course have to finish this one! Daniel Lisi's World of Warcraft is now in copyedits, and will go into layout next week. After that, it's off to the printers. The book comes out June 20, but we hope to have it to you even sooner.

Last, we've been thrilled with the response to Spelunky. Thanks so much for making our latest book a success!

Yours,

Gabe Durham, Boss Fight Books

Spelunky Update + SotC Bundle + TWO Live Readings

Hi Everyone,

I'm happy to say that Spelunky's release is getting close! The official release date is Tuesday, March 29, though we hope to have copies in the mail to you even sooner. You've all shown the patience of saints, or the patience of Buddhist monks, or the patience of particularly chill agnostics.

Which means it is time for me to say: IF YOUR ADDRESS HAS CHANGED, PLEASE UPDATE IT VIA KICKSTARTER. Just log in to Kickstarter and go here. Find Boss Fight, click on the area under the “Reward” column, and change your address.

Next, I wanted to let you know that the ebook version of Shadow of the Colossus by Nick Suttner is currently part of a really great Storybundle. This games bundle includes both volumes of The Untold History of Japanese Game Developers, books by Tevis Thompson, Merritt Kopas, and (to whet your appetite for our Spelunky book) a book about Roguelikes. And keep an eye on our Twitter for a couple more giveaways.

Last, we've got two live readings coming up! Both of them are planned around conferences (GDC and AWP) to maximize the number of you who can potentially make it:

1. Spelunky Release Party - San Francisco, CA - March 17 - 7:30 pm - Green Apple Books on the Park - Readings from Derek Yu, Nick Suttner, Anna Anthropy, and Gabe Durham

Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/174260796285720/

2. Heart-Pounding Panic - Los Angeles, CA - April 1 - 7:30pm - Stories Books and Cafe - Readings from Alyse Knorr, Matt Bell, Salvatore Pane, Jarrett Kobek, Nick Suttner, Daniel Lisi, and Gabe Durham

Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/562825637219672/

So if you're around, please join! See some readings, buy some books, get them signed, drink some drinks, meet some authors. It's going to be a couple of great nights.

Yours,

Gabe // Boss Fight

Coming Soon: Shadow of the Colossus by Nick Suttner

Hey Everybody,

Just wanted to give you the good news that we are in the final stages of work on the book that YOU voted into reality during our Kickstarter campaign: Shadow of the Colossus by Nick Suttner. (Still stinging from the loss are Deus Ex, Final Fantasy VI, and Super Metroid.)

The book features a short foreword from Craig D. Adams of Superbrothers fame, and many other devs pop into the book now and then to weigh in on SotC's magic & influence.

And ICYMI, we recently posted as a teaser the book's Intro chapter.

And now for the housekeeping portion: IF YOUR ADDRESS HAS CHANGED, PLEASE UPDATE IT VIA KICKSTARTER. (Sorry to shout. I'm passionate.) Just log in to Kickstarter and go here: https://www.kickstarter.com/profile/backings Find Boss Fight, click on the area under the “Reward” column, and change your address.

Though I can't yet 100% confirm it, it's looking like we'll have paperbacks ready in time for Christmas -- so if you're shopping for a Shadow fan, you can pick the book up for them here.

Also, Spelunky is really coming along nicely now, and it's looking like it'll be our first book of 2016!

Last, we're glad to see how much everybody has enjoyed Metal Gear Solid and Baldur's Gate II. If you're interested, you can follow recent reviews on our Press page.

Thanks for being awesome, everybody!

Yours,

Gabe // Boss Fight

Metal Gear Solid is Coming Soon!

Hey Everybody,

It's HOT where I am. TOO HOT. Otherwise, things are good:

Metal Gear Solid comes out on August 17! It's got a Kindle page and a Goodreads page, and you can pre-order it through our store.

We'll be sending out the paperbacks before you know it. So if you've got a copy coming to you AND you've recently moved, please update your address through Kickstarter: Just log in to Kickstarter and go here: https://www.kickstarter.com/profile/backings Find Boss Fight, click on the area under the “Reward” column, and change your address.

Writers, please let us know if you'd like to look at an early digital review copy of Metal Gear Solid.

Meanwhile, it's been great to see the raves for Baldur's Gate II in Brooklyn Magazine, The Rumpus, and Fiction Advocate. A couple of excerpts from the book appeared in Entropy & Cartridge Lit. And thanks to everybody who made our StoryBundle such a success.

I'm in the middle of editing a great early Shadow of the Colossus draft! Can't wait to share these books with you.

Yours,

Gabe / Boss Fight
