The Deathfire Backer Portal has arrived!

If you have not yet backed “Deathfire: Ruins of Nethermore” on our official website yet, please allow me to remind you that with the close of the Kickstarter campaign, all Kickstarter pledges have been voided. Therefore, if you wish to support us and help us bring the game to life, please consider supporting us on our website where we now accept pledges through Paypal - both through Paypal accounts and credit cards.

But on to the real reason of this update. The first version of our Backer Portal is now live on our website, which allows backers to link their Paypal account and their original Kickstarter name with their Deathfire User Account. If you do not yet have one, no worries, the system will allow you to create one very quickly.

Once you went through the sign-up and activation process, you will be able to see your pledges on the screen, showing you exactly the amount with which you have so generously backed our project. It will also show your current reward tier. If the displayed reward tier is not the one you had selected or desire, we will give you the ability to select and chose your proper reward tier shortly.

If you have provided and backed us during our Kickstarter campaign, we will double-check your information and then approve your Founder status within a few days. By that time the word “(Founder)” should appear next to your user name.

Note: The system will not display any Kickstarter pledges. When our campaign ended, all Kickstarter pledges have been automatically voided by Kickstarter! Your Kickstarter name is used only to verify that you did back us on Kickstarter so that we can give you “Founder” status.

Because this is a very early version of the Backer Portal no further functionality has been included at this point. We simply wanted to make sure you can see all your payments, so that you can feel safe, knowing that your money has been received and has not been lost in digital limbo.

Over the coming weeks we will expand this Backer Portal and add a lot more functionality to it. As pointed out above, you will be able to select your reward tier, but we will also give you the opportunity to make upgrades and payments directly through the portal, along with a series of other features that will help you manage your pledges, rewards, add-ons, etc.

Paypal payments will take about 24 hours to process and show up in our Backer Portal. If you do not see your pledge straight away, please come back after 24 hours and check again.

Thank you once again for your support.

@kevin i´m totally fine with the updates as im only in a few projects...

but for the big one´s in kickstarter buisiness its an understandable point

If you're annoyed by a projects emails there's a page where you can turn them off. Very simple. I do this for all projects I no longer care about or projects where I received my items. Since I really want to see this game made, bring on the updates!

    3. Creator RoT Daysofdawn + Deathfire on December 14, 2013

ah and of course the $50.000 goal reached news is worth an update too in my taste...

    4. Creator RoT Daysofdawn + Deathfire on December 14, 2013

      @ update frequency
as far as i know (from my few backed projects) an update once a month and of course if something evident happens (like a beta release or stuff)
especially for highly involved kickstarter guys this is often pointed out and should be accountable.
in this case i think G3 hase done good effort to take over momentum from this campaign to the Kickstarter aftermath. i think loosing one fellow backer is sad anyways...

I've been using PayPal since they first started a decade or more ago. That's a lot of years, and zero problems. Once you start using it and realize how easy it is for anyone to send a payment, you'll ask yourself why you hesitated.

Sometimes I sell my books at events, people say they don't carry cash. Mention PayPal and their face lights up. 2 seconds later I'm paid and they got their swag.

why isn't here a edit option...

I see. I tried that and without speaking frensh it's kinda hard to tell, but it seems like you have to create a account, that's kinda silly (might be some regional law thingy... who knows), but you will be still able to pay via credit card, they are listed in the "Types de paiement" section.

I have a paypal account and I like the system. I can recommend a paypal account, but it's up to you.

    8. Creator Mickael Leduque on December 13, 2013

      Stephan,
      Thanks.
I tried again. You're right, when I arrive on paypal page, I have the choice to use a paypal account or credit card.
But as soon as I choose my country (France), the credit card disappears.

    9. Creator Stephan Hammes on December 13, 2013

@Mickael: The thing is, that the new method of payment is Paypal, instead of Amazon. However, you can pay via credit card, without creating an account. Click on the pledge level you want and then you will be redirected to paypal. There is an option "Pay with a debit or credit card, or Bill Me Later". Fill out the form with your credit card infos and you are good to go. Paypal might offer you to creat an account, but that's optional.

    10. Creator Mickael Leduque on December 13, 2013

No, I pledged here before, but when I try to pledgefrom your site, paypal asks me to create an account (I'm sure I was not required to use an account when I made the kickstarter pledge, I just had to enter car data).

A failed KS is not necessarily a failed project. The Problem is that until we finished our backing Portal this is the simplest way to reach all those who backed us the first time. I'm sorry that this is annoying you but please understand that we are passionate about bringing this game to life.

      @Idoclone
      No reason?
I have around 80 updates from KS in less then 14 days and somehow manage to get trough them all. But when then failed projects also add 5+ updates in a week then something is wrong at last from my view.

    13. Creator Dean Thrasher on December 12, 2013

It took me a little while to figure out that I FIRST needed to sign up for the Deathfire forum, THEN I could log in and get access to the backer page, and THEN link my PayPal and Kickstarter accounts.

But once I got the order of operations correct, it was smooth sailing. The portal has my PayPal pledge and recognizes me as a founder. Awesome!

    14. Creator G3 Studios on December 12, 2013

      Mickael,

Are you referring to the Founder status? Founder status is afforded only to those members who are currently backing us AND backed us before, here during our Kickstarter campaign, I'm afraid. =)

    15. Creator Mickael Leduque on December 12, 2013

      It seems I can't without a paypal account ?

    16. Creator Chet on December 12, 2013

      People!

Please remember that everyone's opinion of what has transpired will not be the same.

A person doesn't have to be a fanboy, or even approve of the new direction this project has taken in order to deserve the same respect shown to another.

Name calling has no place in an intelligent discussion.

      @all don't feed the trolls! :-)

Adauli makes my day. :) I guess you don't have many friends, if any at all. ^^

    20. Creator Tom on December 12, 2013

Linking worked fine for me! However, I noticed that the navigation of the page is not shown at the backer status page. You can still click on the logo to get back to the main page though, but it might be slightly confusing.
Hope you will raise enough money to produce the 6 episodes!
In addition to that, I'm also slightly puzzled why this message could offend somebody.

    21. Creator Indoclone on December 12, 2013

      @Adauli
Sad to lose a backer, but you sure do get easily upset for no reason whatsoever.

    22. Creator Thomas Lichte on December 12, 2013

Okay, raised my pledge from 150$ up to 350$ - now I have to think about some kind of monster ... :-)

Congratulations you managed to be the second KS project where I disabled to get any future News from. If I would have been interested in backing your new Version I would have done so already with the first or latest with the second News.
If at all I will consider to buy your game when you finished all 6 Episodes in a complete bundle but the chance that I will do this dropped drastically with this new message.
