1,000 backers, we thank you!

We have just reached another milestone—reason enough for another update for you.

1,000 backers reached!

As I write this, we have accumulated 1,000 backers, and it took only a little more than 24 hours. We are truly impressed, and seeing this, we might indeed make it to the 1,500 backer milestone tomorrow, which will unlock the Kickstarter-exclusive cover for the game. It is still going to be hard, though, and we will need all the support from you that we can get. Talk about the “Deathfire” Kickstarter. Spread the word. Shout it out! just help us to keep the momentum going and to attract new backers to make sure we will reach our funding goal.

Having said all that, we are extremely impressed that no less than 948 backers achieved FIRST DAY BACKER status! That is definitely a badge to wear with honor, because you have established yourself as someone who believed in the vision of the project from the very beginning and were willing and ready to prove it. We cannot tell you how much we appreciate this show of faith and support.

At this point we would also like to give a quick shout-out to our backer Empirimancer, who was the first person to back “Deathfire” in this campaign.

Naturally, I would also like to mention Martin Zagora, who was our 1,000th backer!

For all of you, however, to show your support of the project with pride, we have prepared a selection of Icons that you can use as Avatars. Apply them to your Kickstarter profile to let others know of the campaign, or use them in message boards, Facebook or Twitter. It’s really up to you. Just know, that by doing so, you are not only showing your support, you are, in actuality, continuing to support the project actively. Curse of the Nethermancer

The question also came up, whether the Nether Bursa item that we outlined yesterday replaces the in-game item that is part of the DIGITAL BASE EDITION and upwards. No, it is not. The Bursa is a separate item that every single backer will receive. The item from the DIGITAL BASE EDITION will come in addition to the Nether Bursa, and at this time we have not yet announced what that item will be. Stay tuned, and eventually you will find out, as we will cover it in one of the future updates.

And speaking of the Nether Bursa and the Nethermancer, I wanted to let you all know that we have removed the NETHERMANCER EDITION from our reward tiers. If you’ve been following the comments section, you have probably heard that this reward did not sit well with many backers, as they felt that we were withholding content from all other backers. This was not our intention at all, of course, and therefore, that tier is available no more.

What does the press say?

In the other front, we have received a lot of press coverage on the first day of our Kickstarter campaign, and we wanted to share with you you a quick list of the write-ups we have stumbled across. We have no doubt there is a whole lot more out there, so if you find any other mentions, please feel free to send them to us or post them in the Comments section. We just love it when people talk about us, and we love to hear about it, too.

Well, for me to decide to become a backer reading this was enough: "A single-player party-based fantasy role-playing game that combines deep characters and solid storytelling with turn-based combat."

That would seem to nail what I am looking for, I'm sick of being forced online multiplaying and real-time action down my throat so I am excited to see your game! I suppose I should read properly through the rest of the introduction too.

Thank you so much for the great vibes you guys are spreading!

Guido & Team Deathfire: It takes a lot of courage to switch directions without breaking your stride. I commend you for your choice to reject exclusivity in that manner! In addition to supporting your Linux effort (extremely important to me), and the game concept itself, I'm proud to support the campaign and your move toward *inclusivity*. As a result, we will raise our contribution from Early Bird to the Superfan edition.

      Congrats!
Also good choice to remove the Nethermancer Edition, almost without hesitation after some player feedback!

      This is great news, congratulations!!!

Congrats! Posting many places online, twitter, FB, Tumblr... If all 1000 of us do this, it will help tremendously. Don't forget to tag Wizardry, Eye of the Beholder, Dungeon Master and other old-school games to optimize search hits.

Day 2 can hold the momentum if there are sites talking about a project. We have a good chance at making 1500 by 48 hours. Deathfire is #4 on Kicktraq.

Thank you so much for removing that tier. I was so conflicted about this campaign because I am verrrrry excited about this game, but am strongly against such types of tiers. This is now all gone and I am going to raise my pledge, and I encourage others to do the same. Mr. Henkel truly cares about what we have to say.
