Porta Rista™ is the first coffee system that lets you customise what, where, when and how you want to brew your cup of coffee. An espresso, a long black, or even tea. We have simplified and combined all the features from the tools you already loved into compact modules, without the electricity, or the bulk and burden of conventional coffee machines.
Fresh coffee beans, ground beans or capsules, it's your choice. Brew it now or keep it in your bag for later, your call. Completely powered by your hands, the Porta Rista™ is designed so your best cup of coffee is always within an arm's reach.
We see this campaign as the beginning of a conversation with the global coffee community. FUSE aims to fully empower coffee lovers so that they have complete control and freedom over their brew. When you pledge a reward, we take it as a serious partnership. Ultimately, we hope to develop a comprehensive understanding of your preferences so we can continue creating more modules.
With 3 customisable and interchangeable modules at launch, and many more in development, Porta Rista™ is designed to work effortlessly together, or on its own.
Porta Rista™ comes in 3 interchangeable modules: X for Espresso, Y for Pressed Coffee and Z for Drip Coffee or Grinding Beans. As simple as X-Y-Z.

Even though we come from different cultures, we all have something in common - our passion for coffee.
We work closely with local cafes, roast houses and suppliers to make sure our product works with the various types of materials, coffee ingredients and brewing methods
Our team went through dozens of prototypes, from a bulky 3D printed press to the final minimalistic form factor. Much of our exploration has been guided by these design objectives:
- Intuitive and easy to use
- Premium, durable and food safe materials
- Sustainable and manual powered
Risks and challenges
Porta Rista™ has come a long way since its conceptualisation in January 2016. Hundreds, if not thousands of hours have been spent designing, machining and 3D printing different parts to make every component work flawlessly together.
All our current functioning prototypes are completely machined from solid cylinders of stainless steel and plastics.
Moving forward, more than 70% of the main plastic components will have to be injection moulded. Plastic engineers have been hired to finalise mould designs and cost estimates, so we have a better confidence in calculating our funding goal.
Other operating costs will go towards securing raw materials and components.
Contingent suppliers and factories (both locally and overseas) have been identified. Critical components (e.g. valves and coating) are sourced from reputable manufacturers with ISO certification.
With adequate support and funding from you, we will proceed in ordering the first batch of raw materials and third-party components, and finalise the injection mould manufacturing by November 2017.
Mass production of parts and components are expected to start as soon as the injection moulds are manufactured and assembled in Thailand. Inventories will be distributed from our warehouses in San Franciso, U.S., Bangkok, Thailand and Madrid, Spain.
We are extremely excited for everyone to start using the Porta Rista™. We will have a fixed schedule in updating our progress both on Kickstarter and our website to inform our backers about the production progress.
