Holy Trinity is a feature film written and directed by Molly Hewitt about a queer, femme, Dominatrix named Trinity who huffs the contents of a magic aerosol can and develops the ability to speak to the dead.
This film is being produced by Full Spectrum Features, a 501c3 nonprofit... which means any donations $50 and up are tax-deductible!
We are currently in preproduction and have shot one scene of this film to show you all our vision and now we need your help to raise enough money to finish the film!
Constantly thrown between hallucination and reality, Trinity questions the common skepticism towards spiritual experiences that are "unconventional"or do not subscribe to an institutionalized religion.
Trinity has a partner named Baby who is submissive to her and always faithfully on the end of a leash. Together they meet an array of different people including but not limited to a Priest, Drag Queens and club kids, sex workers, a Reiki practitioner and a Witch who all teach her their individual practices and through this Trinity pieces together her own beliefs.
All of the characters in this film are members of the LGBTQ community and many of the characters express alternative forms of sexuality and lifestyles, namely BDSM and sex work. Holy Trinity will represent these people in a positive light, moving away from the redundant tropes we have seen in movies when these people are so often seen as two dimensional or the "outsider" or "villain". This movie is not just about queer people it is made by and for queer people.
In the film Trinity and Baby go to a club night called CHURCH hosted by the legendary Imp Queen who is playing herself and is also one of Trinity's roommates. We decided to shoot this one scene to give you all a taste of what we want the film to look like! The clips you see in our campaign video are from this scene.
This scene features some of Chicago's finest performance and Drag Artists - Rosé, Pure Magical Love (Heather Lynn), Feldspar Rhodochrosite feat Lady Daddy and Choirboy Mistake, Sarah Squirm, Darling Shear, The Chanels and Slick Mick Willy

This is a film about real people. We are seeing more and more media about the LGBTQ community but so often it is very normalized, fetishized and usually the actors are straight and cis-gendered. The Holy Trinity crew will be just as inclusive as the cast.

Risks and challenges
We strive for high production value on a low budget. We were already able to achieve this in the first scene we shot. It is going to be difficult, but by continuing to be resourceful and using our DIY sensibilities, we can do it!
This story is being told by a lot of different people with different viewpoints and experiences. We want to make sure that everyone is being represented in the way they would like to be seen. To make sure all of the artists and performers are happy with the end result, we are treating this project as a large-scale collaboration. This film is about healing and validating all forms of spirituality so the process is just as important as the final product.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
