Even better optics performance = smaller features

FSL3D has been hard at work perfecting all the little features to make this the best 3D printer under $3000.  Printing jewelry can be particularly demanding on a 3d printer's resolution.

Improving the optics allows us to print finer details.  Compare the two rings below.  Pegasus touch is able to resolve all the holes on the band while the competing SLA printer fills in all the holes.  Also the fine pillar blocks making up the stone settings are grouped together on the latter printer.

Previously we aimed to offer a laser beam size of around 250um but we are now experimenting with as small as 50um with our enhanced optics.  Final shipping will probably be some balance between sharpness and build time (small spot requires more passes to fill in).

      I second the adjustability comment - resolution becomes really important the smaller your object is (and the smaller the object is, the less build time is required).

      If dynamic adjustability isn't feasible, possibly allowing for a manual option (i.e. easily swappable optics packages) might be something to consider, even if it requires re-calibration.

      Will spot size be user-adjustable, either through print settings, firmware or hardware?
      Small linear servo on the optics, perhaps?
      Dynamically changing the spot size would make an amazing difference in the battle for print quality over print speed (e.g. small spot sizes for details and larger spot sizes for fill)

      50um is laser spot size. We can place that 50um with 3um resolution. We can do 25um layer thickness no problem. As usual we don't publicly name names or talk down about anyone specific.

      Looking great FSL,
      Do you think were going to be able to print at 25um ??? or SMALLER ?????
      Can I ask who is The Competition using the grey resin with the filled in holes????

      Oh my god! That's another amazing update!!!! I just can't believe the incredible quality of this laser. I really hope you stick with the smaller laser beam - or at least offer it as an option! You guys rock and July can't come soon enough! :)
