Frequently Asked Questions
Yes the Pegasus Touch has a single external auto-switching 110v/220-240v power brick for easy worldwide power compatibility.Last updated:
Currently the Pegasus Touch is designed and optimized for use with FSL3D resin only. We plan to have a variety of colors and material properties. We may consider adding support for other resins at a later date but optimizing speed while maintaining quality requires a lot of testing and tweaking of several parameters. You will find our resin is priced competitively with other commercial offerings especially for the quality.
We may consider offering a low cost open source resin at a later date for "draft" mode printing if we can meet our funding goals.Last updated:
We have two methods as shown in the video to print objects:
1) Directly through the printer's touchscreen which connects online to our 3D App Store. No computer is necessary in this case. These models are pretested with all necessary settings and supports in place.
2) Importing an STL, OBJ or 3DS file through our Desktop software. Our desktop software will automatically slice the object and give the option to auto-generate supports. You can also click on supports to manually delete them or manually add new supports. The desktop software also supports multitouch features and advanced CAD like manipulations for positioning/rotation/scaling.
Advanced software and electronics is a specialty of FSL which we brought to FSL3D.Last updated:
We haven't had time to test burnout qualities (since we are testing mostly for output quality) but it's on the to do list for the near future. We're sure we can provide a compatible burnout resin from us or we will support a 3rd party resin that burns out cleanly. We'd be happy to work with a backer to test the burn out qualities at a later date. Since we mix the resin ourselves in house, we can optimize it for particular processes easily.Last updated:
Our preliminary shipping dimensions/weights (Pegasus 3D Printer only) are 15"x18"x26.5", 45 pounds. We can fit extra resin inside the shipping box if you choose to buy extra. Shipping is from our Las Vegas office: 6216 S Sandhill Rd, Las Vegas, NV, 89120.
You can use our Fedex shipping rates (Printer only, Laser+Printer ships as 2 boxes and additional shipping applies) as follows by adding it to your pledge:
USA: $75, Canada: $150, Hawaii: $150, Europe: $350, China: $500, Australia: $525.
Keep in mind international customs/taxes are NOT included. If your country charges VAT likely you will need to pay this extra amount on the declared value.
You can use your own shipping company and send us a shipping label but we take no responsibility after it leaves our warehouse if you use your own shipping method so ensure you buy insurance.Last updated:
Currently we are estimating a MSRP of $3499. Save over $1000 by supporting our Kickstarter campaign! In addition, we will ship all Kickstarter pledges before any orders taken through our website.Last updated:
The resin container will likely need replacement or recoating after 2-4 L of resin printing. You can recoat yourself with instructions provided or you can buy a new one for $75.
Resin of course needs to be purchased for printing at a cost of $125 for 1 liter or $400 for 4 liters ($100 per liter when purchased in 4L bulk). Our resin cost is one of the lowest direct from a manufacturer.
Backers are encouraged to order resin at the same time as their printer pledge by adding the difference in price to their pledge. Kickstarter pledges ship first before all other orders and can ship in the same box as the printer to save shipping costs.Last updated:
We offer a standard 90 day base warranty on all parts/service for the Pegasus Touch (this is the same as most other consumer 3d printing companies). In addition, you can buy an extension to 1 year for $300 extra.Last updated:
We see almost unlimited shelf life of the resin as long as it is kept out of light. To encourage people to buy in bulk and save, we will offer a 1 year warranty on any unused resin. If it ever spoils in the bottle (it shouldn't), send it back and we will swap it for new resin.Last updated:
We ask all interested potential distributors/dealers to support our Kickstarter to get familiar with the product and see if it is something you would like to sell. We want distributors that are excited about our product enough to buy one to try. Without trying it and understanding the product we feel the relationship will not be productive.
We will make a selection of distributors after receiving feedback on the printer and shipping all Kickstarter rewards.Last updated:
