So FSL3D you want to silence me on your google groups ay?

Here is the post you deleted:

I had a lot of success with this printer using the PDMS vat and no success at all with the supervat. The supervat liner is destroyed now. It felt like a massive waste of money for what came to my door when I received it and sure enough, it was a waste in use as well.

I'm really disappointed they got 10 million invested into their company and very little returns have come out of that investment, at least in the public's view. I’m sure the investing conglomerate is none too pleased with the impending release of the Glowforge laser cutter, I think FSL is going to lose a lot of market share on the hobby laser cutting side of their business. Actually, they already did to the tune of $29 million and probably even more with the release of Formlabs Form 2 printer.

At CES this year, no updates to the Pegasus Touch released, no announcements...nothing… very disappointed.

They have been doing research in resins and chemistry and formulation, but that doesn’t fix the underlying issues with the printer itself.

They never even implemented the PCB etching feature that they said they were going to do... Granted I know how to work around to get it to work, but that's not the point.

I remember they said they were committed to upgrading the machine... Where are the upgrades? I see pictures/videos of so many different versions of the machine, but no way to upgrade. What?! I have to spend more money to send it to FSL to "fix" the machine... No, I'm not spending any more money on this machine with you. I can't even sell this thing, because of the license fee they enacted, no one will touch this machine with a 10 foot pole.

If you have something that doesn't quite work for everyone, it needs to be open sourced, then once the masses figure everything out, you can close it down with a version 2 of the printer, that's probably how this should have been approached to begin with. Not controlled in a laboratory setting.

2 out of the 3 main Engineers that developed this printer don't even work at FSL3D anymore, hence the lack of updates, this machine is destined to become derelict.

So, I'm doing something, about all this... hacking the machine. This isn’t the first time I’ve done this with a 3D printer, I’ve done this with Makerbot and the B9creator, the difference is they welcomed and incorporated the design improvements into their products. The warranty that came with the Pegasus was a joke to begin with and is long expired...Hell, I violated the warranty as soon as I ran out of the first free resin and had better success with aftermarket resin.

Here are some of my results, all with aftermarket resin that was cheaper and better performing:

      Oblivion drone:
      https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/fsl3d/brian$20pierce/fsl3d/igMGe8JIRWA/EQ1HSe2UK4IJ

      https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/fsl3d/brian$20pierce/fsl3d/omdkwCQ6Lcg/xeK77-Y_AWEJ

      Arc reactor:
      https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/fsl3d/brian$20pierce/fsl3d/Jmol_R8UlKs/SYLqXtaEi40J

They have since reformulated the resin, to be more like the one I used.

BTW I have root access to my machine... also another individual is currently working on reverse engineering the entire firmware to make an opensource version... this will negate the license transfer fees and 1500 open resin license fee...

The people you betrayed will soon have full control of the printer, very soon.

      Cheers!

I truly am shocked that Kickstarter does not require them to keep communication through Kickstarter. It should be a part of the contractual agreement between us(the backers) and them(the project manager). If they violate that, the contract should be breakable and they owe us money back and we can ship the item back.

    6. Mark Sean Lorey on

Who ever you sell it to has to pay

    7. Mark Sean Lorey on

I called to let Fsl know I sold my printer on ebay and send the new owner the bottle of resin and they wanted his number do they could get him to pay transfer fees!! This company sucks big time and I lost over 1200. In this campaign! If that short fat guy was in front of me I would kick him right in his ass!! And I'm glad to be rid of this messes waste of money piece of shit printer

@Mark How did u find out? Did u get an email saying you have to pay $400? Where can I find that information/policy?

    9. Mark Sean Lorey on

I sold my printer and I lost my ass!! Cash wise! And that's when I found out about the change in ownership fee!!! Big mess and very expensive!! If you haven't received by now I would try to get a refund and save yourself a big big headache!!!

If anyone wants a Pegasus, I am wiling to sell mine. I have a perfectly operational Pegasus, 4 Quarts of resin (Clear), and a brand new vat for sale. First $1,000 bucks get the whole thing ( Plus shipping of course). I don't know how to ship internationally, so USA would be best, otherwise I will need you to figure out the shipping.

LET ME STRESS... THIS IS A WONDERFUL PRINTER, I just did not foresee the mess that is required to print with a resin printer... I just do not have an area that will accommodate this.

Perhaps you have paused production, to solve one or more problems before continuing? Please inform the backers. Thanks.

Hello I am curious what the projected Ship date is for Level 2 Customers?

    20. Joseph on

I see a lot of complaints coming up… FSL had to choose the worst shipping company for this very expensive & delicate device. Just watch this http://www.liveleak.com/view… (Hopefully I’ve installed surveillance cams to catch these punks!). And since FSL mentioned before: “You can use our Fedex shipping rates… You can use your own shipping company and send us a shipping label but we take no responsibility after it leaves our warehouse if you use your own shipping method so ensure you buy insurance.” Then they should have provided insurance for everybody who used their Fedex rates.

P.S. Does somebody know what levels are being currently shipped? Mine is Lvl 1

NIGHTMARE: Dear FSL3D, This FedEx ground thing is turning into a headache. I'm going to urge you to NOT require signature on delivery OR use a company other than FedEx. This driver has, 'aprently', been coming by my house for over a week now and saying that I'm not home. My wife is home ALL day and she hasnt heard the door bell ring ONCE. FedEx driver also lied on Tuesday about the number of times he came by, saying he came by 3 and it was his final try, but CLEARLY on the tracking site Tuesday was only the SECOND time. I had to call the FedEx support and be placed on hold for 30 minutes while they talked about god knows what. Anyway, this is a nightmare experience... I dont know if its the signature requirement OR FedEx, but You have to do something... I STILL dont have the printer and this is the 5th day their tracking site 'says' that it's out for delivery. For gods sake... help! Thank you, ~Scott

So I just left a post in the FSL3D forum but they did not approve it. I thought that I could share it here since they have no control over what gets posted. I am a level 2 backer patiently awaiting my printer. A few months after kickstarter closed I convinced my company to order one for our R&D department. They kept asking me when it was coming and I told them that it will be after mine and that it was delayed. Well you can imagine how surprised I was that I came in yesterday and the pre-order printer for my company had arrived and is in the building. I wrote an email to FSL3D asking why they are shipping out pre-orders prior to kickstarter orders and they just responded a generic there were delays we expect your printer to be out August. As a backer of Form 1 as well I understand that there will be problems, but they were always focused on the customer as well as the community that helped launch them. I have a really sour feeling towards the Pegasus already just due to them shipping out pre-orders prior to kickstarter editions. I guess the silver lining is that if they are shipping pre-orders now that the rest of us kickstarter people should be soon. I do however think that not approving my post to their forum or responding to my email with meaningful information is disrespectful to the kickstarter community. Just thought that I'd share my story here.

@Monito Do you really think they are going to come in and tell you it's revoked? I've had to make my own software for client use, and that is in there purely to hurt clients trying to reverse engineer their software and steal it for China. Second thing... that part is completely unenforceable... what are your concerns? they will jack up the price of the resin and revoke your right to use the software already installed on the printer?

    37. Mark Sean Lorey on

      Don't get the printer than!!

    38. Mike C. on

@Monito Look at your Microsoft EULAs, they say the same thing.

    39. Missing avatar

      Monito on

2 major points do not sit well with me. We dont own the software and can be revoked at their discretion. And that we cannot use any other resin other than FSL supplied resin. The printer is useless with out the software.

Would you sell a laser printer without the driver? Or by the paper and toner only from manufacture. No absolutely not.

After playing with the software for a few days I thought we would be getting something more advanced. Considering the amount of time that you had to develop the software. Are there any plans to enhance the software to include any of these options?

      LASER CONTROL
Feed rate of the laser. There is no option to adjust how fast the laser will travel per layer.
Hatching. I would like control on how the laser will hatch the object. For instance I would prefer the laser start on the outside walls in work its way to the center.
Lift off rate and distance in the software there is no control
Is there a way to programmaticly change the laser beam diameter?
Maybe there is a way to configure some of these options in the hardware. But I would still like to configure the print job from the software and save those setting as part of the job.

      MODELING
There is no option for shelling. I know there is other software but is complicated and requires another piece of software. What are the plans to add this feature?
Would like different ways to fill a solid.
Supports. Is there a way to configure the supports.
      Diameter of the post?
Diameter of the connecting piece to model?
      Tapper of the post?
How large the post connects to the floor?
      Some minimum modeling tools?
When creating supports I did not see a way to turn off the plate?
Do you plan to release and API? Or some method for people to add features to your software? Will there be a way for a programmer to write there own interface?
