This really happened. He filmed every day for 6 years straight. We have over 80 Terabytes of footage. 10,000 hours. And now, we're going to tell his story.
Darrick Landreneau (Instagram: @darrick) is a young and quirky college freshman entering LSU in the fall of 2012. He lives in a two bedroom apartment with his upperclassman sister. With the support of a scholarship from his dad, and the high hopes of a loving mother, his road to Pre-Med is set.
But there’s only one problem: Darrick wants to be a filmmaker.
From his early days, he was the star of frequent home video recordings. And in high school, his interests were piqued by broadcast journalism and theatre. When he arrives at LSU, all he wants to do is make people laugh with his YouTube videos. But the second he steps foot on campus, the ideas stop coming. Then, one day on the way to class, while praying, God tells him to film college. Darrick knows inside, this is exactly what he has to do.
For the next six years, Darrick pressed record on his life catching the lives of himself and his best friends as they navigated college, relationships, and crazy adventures that took them all around the world with social media stars.
Social Media has a way of making everything look perfect, even when it isn’t. From My Eyes exists to be different. Our story, from the social generation, uniquely removes the filters of which we often mask our lives. Darrick recorded everything. The camera didn’t turn off. He captured his real life. The screw up moments and the good times. From My Eyes chronicles the real life journey of a young man determined to live a life worth filming. And we’re challenging you to do the same.
This short film contains more than 80TB of footage from more than six years of our lives. It’s going to take a small army to help it come to life, and we need your help to make it happen.

Risks and challenges
We think the time for this project is now, and we're committed to making the most impactful short film and series we can, as quickly as possible. That said, documentary filmmaking is an art, not an exact science, and there could be some bumps along the way.
If production obstacles cause delays, that could mean that we get the short film out to you, our backers, later than anticipated. But, based on our experience creating on many productions and the strong team we have put together, we are confident that we can make a great short film by the end of May 2019 and if funded further a full Docu-Series by the end of 2019.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
