Friye™ was created to offer a New World solution for the How-To market. It elegantly gives people step by step audio instructions accompanied by pictures, video and other media - without advertisements. The Friye app works on your smart phone, tablet, or computer through a conversational interface, giving the users hands-free, real-time access to the information they need, when they need it.
Friye also gives anyone who knows how to do something, the means to create an income making Friyes from their special knowledge. This format is brand new and wide open. It is designed to be as flexible and easy to use as possible, allowing just about anyone to be amazingly creative in telling people how to achieve tasks and projects.
Friyes can be used for more than just to convey "how-to" to the public. They have many uses in education, for emergency and first-responder information, passing info to friends, family, or employees, and a ton of other things that are just now being discovered. It is a powerful platform that will continue to evolve for years to come.

This phone/tablet/computer application uses primarily a conversational interface where the user communicates the commands to the application with simple English (or whatever language). When the application hears the word "Friye" it evaluates what comes after it for a command. If the user wants to go to the next step, he will say "Friye Next". Friye also looks for synonyms as well like "Friye start over" is the same as "Friye go back to the beginning".
The Structure of a Friye is generally step by step instructions. At any time, the FriyeCook can make the Friye ask a question and depending on the answer, decide on what path a Friye might go. For instance: If someone is using a Friye to set up a new Blu-ray player, the Friye might start by asking if they have an HDMI cable or an RCA Cable.The Friye will perform a different set of steps depending on the verbal response.
Social Responsibility. At the beginning of each Friye there will be positive uplifting message from celebrities and famous figures from around the world. We want to empower people in many ways.
Many of the rewards for our backers contain the “Immortalize Yourself” reward. Like the celebrities, this is your way to have your message heard forever. You record a 3-6 second message saying something positive and uplifting that you would want to say to someone starting a Friye. Such as: “This is Wen Boley saying You are creating your reality, make it a good one”. This message will be put into the rotation of messages that will be heard by whoever uses Friyes. Your positive inspiration could be heard for generations to come!
Are we using AI? Even though the Friye application is conversational, we are not using artificial intelligence. Our proprietary methodology of determining what to ask and how to determine answers is simple, elegant, requires less code to operate, requires less data to be transmitted, and gives the user a more consistent experience.
The Audio Component The current prototype requires the user to push a button to speak but when the new version is complete, we plan to have the application listen continuously while the user is engaged with it.
The UI is simple and consistent in every Friye, so the Friyer (user) knows what to expect every time they begin a step or project.
Translation Matrix The Friye app is also tied to a translation matrix that will allow Friyes to be created in just about any language and then used in just about any other language.
Friyes are Yours and Yours alone. And we think it is important that you can use the Friyes you purchase on any device. Your account uses your name and voice print as your username and password. When you purchase a Friye, it’s your forever and cannot be transferred or used by others. Voice print identification is how we give people the fairest access and provide the best security.
The Friye Store will be a business model similar to other content models where the application is free, but the content that plays through the application may or may not cost money. Of course we will have a place where users can browse through Friye categories with many different ways to discover what they can do with the application, but because we are a conversational application, Friyes will usually be found through searches. Searching is unique with Friye as it is usually initiated through the conversational command “Friye, How do I” or “Friye, I want to” ... The work is then done on the back end bringing the information to the user by letting them know what is available and how much it costs.
The Friye Creation Application makes the Friye creation experience as easy as possible without sacrificing the ability to make a complex set of instructions. A FriyeCook has at his disposal, an infinite number of ingredients, steps, questions, answers to those questions, synonyms to the answers, branches the path can go, and so on. We believe in giving our creators infinite resources to be as complete as possible.
Dev Team - Our development team Bill and Todd have been working together for over 20 years on speech recognition software, and Bill has worked on phone apps from their inception. Robin has both client and server-side experience in high-tech government applications and has been working in design for her entire career. Wen is a coder turned visionary, he sees Friye for the top down and provides direction when necessary.
Why We Need The Funding - Our $25,000 goal gets us off to an awesome start. We already have a prototype, but we are ready to begin working the code with a dedicated server and moving onto the more expensive speech recognition software that will make the application truly hands free. Reaching this goal will allow us to pay for the needed development and hardware to get us to the next level. If we can pass the $100,000 mark, we will have enough to make the core product ready for the public, and, we have more functionality and business plans ready which we will complete as we meet our stretch goals!
The Friye marketing plan covers retail and commercial markets. We have commitments for the large funding needed for marketing, contingent on us having our product ready for the public.
The core Friye product is our database of Friyes created by FriyeCooks. FriyeCooks are what we call the people that create the Friyes from their specific knowledge. The Friyes they create are made available to the public through our Friye store using a business model similar to iTunes.
Along with marketing the Friye platform with humorous television and web advertisements, FriyeCooks will be marketing their own Friyes. Our Friye Factory will be enticing Celebrities to come forth and create Friyes that spotlight their particular talents. In addition, we believe new celebrities will be created by people who focus on specific markets. For example: Super Joe’s Friyes for working on your Porsche. His biggest seller is “How To Change The Oil In Your 911”.
Friye will be marketing to companies all over the world in three (3) areas.
1. Product Information – How to use, install, or assemble a product. There are many companies who have a “some assembly required” business model. By making Friyes available for how to assemble their products, it can save them tons on their customer service calls. This is also true for electronics companies. Imagine being guided by a patient voice in how to install your new home entertainment system, internet connection or a new sprinkler system.
2. Chain Stores – Friyes can create product consistency in a high turnover environment. Chain stores and restaurants can utilize the Friye platform to maintain regularity in how their employees make their products. By training with Friyes, the company knows that everyone is receiving the exact same information. This training is given to them into their ear as they are doing what they are being taught to do, versus watching a video and then trying to remember what they saw when they are actually doing the job.
3. Manufacturing – Diversity and Control
Happy Chain Store & Manufacturing Management – By utilizing the Friye platform, management has greater control over the procedures the employees follow to do their jobs. The Friyes can be created by their best employees who can share their techniques to anyone who will have to perform that task in the future. Friye creates a permanent archive of all changes providing documentation of the evolution.
Happy Chain Store & Manufacturing Employees – By having Friye training and guidance available, employees who are out sick can more easily be substituted. It will be easier for employees to cross-train to expand their skill sets. By using Friyes, good employees can do more diverse jobs giving them a more expanded and rewarding work experience helping them stay longer and feeling more valuable in their company.
All the employees already own the equipment they need to train with Friye. There is no out-of-pocket expense to the company to use Friye training unless the company decides to provide equipment.
If I am looking for a job, and I have used Friyes to do things before, and a company advertises they have Friye Training, I feel much more comfortable applying for that job. I have more confidence in my ability to do the job, even if I’ve never done anything like that job before. The company also has more confidence that I can do the job, even though I don’t have any experience doing that kind of job, because I have experience doing Friyes and I'm comfortable following their instructions. Animal shelters can offer Friyes to owners of adopted animals to help care for their new pets correctly.
Firefighters can offer Friyes that teach fire safety and emergency protocols.
Saint Jude's Children's Hospital can create fun Friyes just for kids.
Boy and Girl Scouts can earn their merit badges being guided by Friyes.
The Lion's Club who run a recycling program for eyeglasses can create Friyes on how best to take care of your eyes and your eyewear.
The Red Cross can create Friyes ahead of time for typical services they need help with by volunteers. Volunteers can log into their Friye account and access the Red Cross Friyes available, and provide help to those in need when they are most needed.
When government agencies and relief organizations have important procedural information to convey to the public, for instance what to do in case of an avalanche, they can offer the Friyes to everyone for free. Utilizing the Friye methodology can help the organization and dissemination of correct emergency procedures to many people simultaneously and instantly. The information will come right into their ear so they can use it in real-time situations.

Friye is the most patient instructor and consistent trainer. Our team has discussed many ways the platform can be used in education and we decided to start with assistance in memorization. Friye has the ability to ask a question and then evaluate the answer, and then go different paths depending on the answer. This makes it the perfect “flash card” partner. The Friye Cooks have complete control over what answers are acceptable and can set up a list of synonyms for any answer to be correct.
We believe it is a powerful thing in our world for kids to begin to utilize Friyes to help them accomplish things completely and correctly. As they learn with Friyes, they gain confidence in what they can accomplish and their minds begin to expand and become more creative.
Our FriyeFactory has been given the task of coming up with some awesome Friyes specifically for kids to use. These Friyes can help them gain confidence, self-reliance, self-esteem, and a sense that they can do anything. It has the potential to change the landscape in a child’s development when they accomplish something they had always thought was impossible for them to do.
We are expecting we will hear from educational organizations that will also help us come up with more Friyes for our Kids as well.
When Friye launches to the world, there will be hundreds of the most requested “how-to” Friyes available for people to try. These Friyes will be created in the FriyeFactory. This is our in-house Friye creation department that has a three (3) main purposes. The first purpose, is to bring Friyes to the world that are created by us. The second is to bring positive up-lifting messages to everyone who uses Friye. And the third, is to help FriyeCooks make the best Friyes possible.
Headed up by Paul Neal Rohrer, the FriyeFactory will pull talent from all over the country to create hundreds of Friyes that people would want most. We intend to make most of them available to the world for Free so everyone can begin to experience the ease and effectiveness of the Friye methodology. A big part of Paul’s job is to recruit celebrities from the Television and Film industry to help us with this project. Not only will they be helping their fans by giving them valuable information, but they will also be creating additional income for themselves.

There are enough ways people can receive advertising information in the world. When it’s time to focus on a project and get something completed, you want to be encouraged, not distracted. We decided that instead of advertising, that when we start a Friye, a famous respected person speaks to you for just a few seconds offering you words of encouragement.
The factory will gather 3-6 second positive uplifting message from celebrities and famous figures from around the world. This will add to the cultural diversity and help them to be immortalized in a creative and on-going way.

The FriyeFactory™ will be the go-to place for assistance for the FriyeCooks. As the most experienced people in the world making Friyes, our staff will be helping Friye cooks from all over the world create content that is powerful, clear, and fits the vision of what we want Friyes to be.
Friyes will be screened before they are released to the public, and the FriyeFactory will be responsible for this task. Though we have only a few rules on content (i.e. no instructions on how to make bombs) and have no intention to curtail the creativity of the FriyeCook community, we have a responsibility to make sure this platform is not misused by anyone who would wish to harm others with it.
Location specific functionality can help us source things people will need to complete Friyes. By accessing inventory information online provided by different retailers, Friye users can be guided to the closest location that has what they need to complete their Friyes, or perhaps even order products for them. This is just another way we are using existing technology in concert with the Friye platform.
Friye Inventor and Founder Wen Boley gives us a little glimpse into why he decided to create this amazing platform. The video is edited down to three of the most important reasons Wen believes Friye needs to be. When we filmed it, it was over 20 minutes and had dozens of Why’s! If we boiled it all down, Our CEO, Wen Boley believes Friye is not only a cool idea, it is a natural part of the new world we are creating, and MUST become a reality.
Friye can help give the memory and learning challenged more dignity, more self-reliance, a way to live a more satisfying and possibly happier life. If there were no other reason, this is why Friye must come into our world. And with a little help from you, it will.
The biggest risk and challenge we have is Time. This is an awesome idea whose time has come. Even though our branding is solid and we have an exceptional marketing team, those with deeper pockets could beat us to the punch. By initiating this Kickstarter campaign, we’ve tipped our hand to the world. With a phone/web application, patents and intellectual property can only go so far. We must act quickly and capture the market if we are to become the “Kleenex” of the How-To marketplace. '
We have the executive team in place and resources to find all the right people to hire to make this happen quickly, we just need the funding required to pay them appropriately. We fit nicely into the criteria of many tech funds, and have already talked to several funders that are interested in putting the big money in that we will need for the marketing, so we are confident that when we are ready to launch the big money will be there to take us to the world.
There is also a lot of well-established competition in the How-To market and though they have not addressed their responsibility with “New World” eyes like we have, they have done a great job in gathering information. We feel these sites are not competition at all, but future partners who can utilize our tool in concert with their own to offer expanded service to their customers.
