My name is Rob, and I'd like your help to make a big poster of every item NASA sent to the moon aboard the historic Apollo 11 mission.
Thanks to NASA's impecabile record keeping, I was able to painstakingly research all of the original launch manifests & stowage lists from the '60s. Every piece of the survival kit, the dehydrated foods, the maintenance kits, the extravehicular suits, the lunar tools, and more are cataloged into this one big poster. 200+ items and 69 detailed illustrations make up this poster celebrating the first time man walked on the moon.
These open edition posters will be screen printed with metallic silver ink on thick Nightshift Blue French Paper. Each big 18 x 24" poster will be signed by hand (by me!). One poster is just $29 and includes shipping anywhere in the US! International shipping varies by country.
Reaching over 3,000 backers, I've used Kickstarter to fund three successful print projects in the past. This is one of the most accurate and densely detailed posters I've ever drawn, and I'd love your help to bring print to life.
Want two or more posters (as gifts)? Simply multiply your pledge at any time by however many Apollo posters you want. Two = $58, Three = $87, etc. (International backers will also need to add shipping to that total)
- Personal thanks to:
- NASA - For landing on the moon! And great record keeping.
- Sunjacket - For the great music in the video.
- The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum - For their collection in DC that inspired me to make this poster.
Risks and challenges
I illustrate, print, and ship posters for a living. My previous Kickstarter project had over 3,000 backers so my my workshop has become remarkably streamlined and effective at shipping all over the world.
Any issues that could arise, I've thankfully handled before. These include printing delays, customs shenanigans, UPS once dropped an entire box of mint condition posters on its corner, and even simply running out of plastic end caps for our custom poster tubes has stalled operations before.
The major unpredictable part of the project is scope / how many posters we'll need to print and ship. A tiny run of posters can be packaged and ready in a week, but a large run could take two months. I will keep you informed here about our timing estimates as the project progresses.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
