Well hi there you lovely human you, thanks for coming. Oh us? We’re the League of Extraordinary People on the Gender Spectrum, and we’re making a sketch show. For you. Isn’t that great? We think so. We're also doing it for us - the League! All inclusive and all encompassing and very competitive. We’ve been performing and writing together for years, in small clumps and in large groups and sometimes even alone to our pets and spouses.
The show? Oh, I’m glad you asked. It’s called "Friendly Fire: The Art and Execution of Friendship". We figured since we’re friends, and since many of you have friends, we might as well talk about it. How fun it can be, or weird, or frustrating, or wet. Mostly weird and wet. So we’re making a bunch of absolutely guaranteed to be hilarious and relatable sketches outlining just what we think it means to be friends as we all get older. And closer to death. NOT TODAY SATAN! (But probably soon for AJ.)
How are we gonna do it? Well dang aren’t you kind for asking. Well, we’ve got the team, the talent, and the drive. So that's a solid foundation, now we’re looking to get the funds. We wanted to self-fund, but Uber Eats upped their delivery charge and now everyone is poor. So we made a budget to cover the costs of making this wonder-show. $3000 will go to our baseline show costs. Bare bones for paying our director, musical director, stage manager, and covering the incidentals of promoting and creating advertising for the show. Oh, also props and costumes. And the venue. And accessibility. It’s really gonna be tight.
Everything past the $3000 will go towards making our show even more accessible. We believe strongly that theatre should be something everyone can connect with and enjoy, and so we’re dedicating what we can to get ASL interpreters, audio interpretation, and to doing relaxed performances for our show run. We’d be bad friends if we didn’t at least try, right?
Honestly, we love this project, and each other… and now you! It means the world to us that you’d even consider helping us be friends on stage, and in real life. So thanks for just being here and reading this far (but we still want your money.) FRIENDS
