What Is The Game?
Cockatilt is a game wherein you fling an adorable butterball cockatiel across perches and down ladders so that she might continue to stuff her gizzard. Tap and drag movable perches of varying shapes and sizes to hasten her descent, and hope that her cage mate won't beat her to dinner.
The game was designed as a $0.99 touch screen game for those who like cute chubby things, but want a challenge. The game already has an ESRB rating of 'E' and a PEGI rating of '3'. We are currently developing for Android and Windows Phone, with hopes of getting the game on iTunes in the future. The game will ship with 42 levels with the ability to add more later.
Oh yeah, no annoying ads will be in the game, in case you were worrying. We don't believe in pop-ups and banners in games that you've paid for.
Who Are We?
We are Frenzied Marmot, and this is our first game. We are based in Washington state. For this game we've had two dedicated members:
- Aaron Moore - Software developer taking care of the technical and the business side of things.
- J. Christine Leach - Artist and designer taking care of the art assets and the level design/balance.
Where Is Development At?
Development is close to complete. We're in the final polish and test phase.
Why Do We Need To Be Kickstarted?
Application fees for the most part. Any funds raised on Kickstarter will help us pay the fees required to get the game into the various app stores and get the business paperwork/accounting stuff squared away. (As well as cover the glorious taxes and fees that come with Kickstarting.)
What Are The Stretch Goals?
- $2,000 - iPhone/iPad release
- $2,500 - Six more levels.*
- $3,000 - Six more levels?*
- $3,500 - Six more levels!*
- $75,000 - You funded a sequel, Cockatwo! (We're thinking... Australian rainforest...)
(*Note: Extra levels will be released after launch as application updates so as not to mess with the game's release.)
Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge will be app store approval. We're confident that due to the fun nature of our game and its quality it will be approved. Even if it's not approved for a particular official store we will release it for the platforms involved in any way we can.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
