Focusing is hard. To-do lists are overwhelming. Schedule Magic is here to help!
You know how you usually approach your to-do list? By doing the easy things first, and really dragging your feet on the hard stuff that takes real focus? Yeah, us too.
After reading so (SO) many books and articles on productivity (my favorite procrastination tactic!), I started formatting my to-do lists differently.
After brain-dumping my to-do list, I prioritize my tasks according to my actual goals. (Tim Ferriss has a great tip-- he asks himself, “Which one of these, if done, would make the others either easier or irrelevant?”)
Then, I schedule these tasks out on a calendar, as if they were actual meetings or appointments. Giving myself a time limit really helps me stay focused, instead of zoning out or jumping around to different tasks.
This new format has really helped me stay focused and get way more done, so I wanted to share it with the world in the form of a handy notebook called Schedule Magic.
How to use Schedule Magic
Why a Good To-Do List Matters
You may have heard of decision fatigue. The idea is that our willpower becomes depleted throughout the day. By planning out your day, you don't have to repeatedly decide what you should be working on next. Instead, you can just focus on getting your most important tasks done.
Plus, crossing off items on your to-do list is the best!
Bonus Notes Section
The last 20 pages of the notebook feature a dotted grid for note-taking.
- Dimensions: 8.2" x 5.75"
- 140 total pages (120 to do pages, 20 Notes pages)
- 16 pt. cover stock (perfectly sturdy)
- Wire-o binding
- Undated so you can use it anytime
- Designed and printed in Cleveland, Ohio
Back our Kickstarter now to get one, two, three, five, or ten copies of Schedule Magic!
We'll be sending out rewards the first two weeks of December so they arrive for the holidays.
I (Lora) founded Free Period Press because I had a lot of ideas for fun paper things I wanted to see in the world AND a lot of amazingly creative designer friends that could help make them. The result is a community of creative folks that have made everything from coloring books to stickers to productivity tools like Schedule Magic.

Risks and challenges
This is our 6th Kickstarter campaign, so we pretty much know what’s up. The notebook layout is printer-ready and we have extra buffer time in our schedule, just in case. BUT if anything were to come up, we promise to be transparent with any updates.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
