New Freedrum App and 2018 Update!

It's been a long time since we last spoke to our beloved Kickstarter backers! We wanted to catch you up on how things have been going and our latest app. As you may have seen on our social media channels - we have released a new app called Freedrum. After testing, getting the right samples, designing the 3D kit, we are proud to say the app is out now for iOS and macOS! An Android release will arrive late Spring/Early Summer with Windows support to follow.

With the new app you get:

Full 3D visualization of the kit. So, you can see what drums you are hitting and at what velocity. Mixer to control the levels of each piece of the drum kit. The section dedicated to configuring the sensors. (left-handed, foot sensor and connecting automatically) We have added the most requested feature! No, not a cowbell, but the ability to control your hi-hat with the foot sensor. As you open and close the hi-hat with your foot you will have a range of samples that match the sound. Ride cymbal now can play a bell with a twist of the wrist. You can touch the screen to play the kit in the app as well.

Make sure your sensors are updated to V7 (Using Sensorware) to properly use the new hi-hat/ride cymbal features in the Freedrum app.

2018 is going to be an exciting year for Freedrum and our supporters! We went to NAMM in Anaheim, California last month and had great feedback on drumming playing styles. Through this direct feedback and testing we have the information needed to take it to the next step.

We will also share our goals and plans for this year in a coming update. As we said it is going to be an exciting year!

If you have any questions or concerns please send us an email at hello@freedrum.rocks so we can better assist you!

**If you are having technical issues with Freedrum please email us directly at support@freedrum.rocks

**If you haven't received your kit it could be that the survey wasn't responded to.

**We are working on updates for Android as well as new firmware updates to fix drifting and the infamous hi-hat/crash issue.

Are you guys doing anything about the drifting? I find that this is virtually un-playable.

Put it this way...I have charged the units when I first received them (In November or whenever this kickstarter got sent out) and havent needed to recharge them because i stop playing them after about 5 minutes because the snare is down by my feet and I cant seem to reset that. The only reason I go back every now and then is to update in the hope that the issue is being fixed...are you guys even looking into this?

I have a lot of trouble with the hi hat and crash as well...ill start off hitting the hi hat fine but then after a minute or two the hi hat is at my feet and im constantly hitting the crash.

The last time I played (with this new app) there wasnt even a middle tom?

I really love this idea and was super excited when i ordered it...I still have faith in you guys. Please dont let the dream die. I would love to be able to take this and play live with a band or something but for as long as I have had it that has never been possible.

Will the app be on android system as well?
