2/5 Update - Less than one week to go!

Hello!

As the VGHS S2 Kickstarter approaches the end, we wanted to make sure our awesome backers and supporters had a chance to get everything they wanted. To better facilitate that, we're putting together a survey to see what items or things we may have overlooked. Help us out by filling out this quick form to let us know what we should add!

We have a slew of very exciting announcements and updates. We'll kick it off with:

Executive and Co-Producers!

Meet our very generous Executive Producer - The Peregrine Gaming Glove and Co-Producer Prometheus Lights! Both these companies donated generously to the campaign and happen to have some very cool products that fit perfectly into the world of VGHS!

The Peregrine Gaming Glove (Executive Producer)

The Peregrine is basically the Nintendo Power Glove on steroids - it's a gaming glove which is controlled by touching points on your fingers with your thumb, allowing you to input 30 different combinations.

It also happens to be perfect for some scenes we have showcasing the Real Time Strategy Team and for a one-on-one fighting game showdown!

The Peregrine is also going to be showing up this summer as the control interface in Guillermo Del Toro's Neon Gene- I mean, Pacific Rim!

Check out The Peregrine at their website http://theperegrine.com!

Prometheus Lights (Co-Producer)

Prometheus Lights is actually Jason Hui - a one-man company based in California that custom makes awesome super bright LED flashlights.

We needed a flashlight for a couple different scenes - one where Ted sneakily breaks into the teacher's lounge, and for a number of action scenes that have weapon mounted flashlights, and we needed some customization so Prometheus Lights work perfectly!

Our director of photography Jon Salmon is working closely with Jason to fine tune the color temperature, lumen output, and beam throw of the lights (something we could never do with any other flashlight) for these scenes to make sure the look of the flashlights in each scene is perfect.

Team Logos and Graphics

This season of VGHS takes us outside the walls of the school and out into the world of school competition. Naturally, we needed to design some logos for the rival schools. Here's some are some of the teams you'll encounter this season, courtesy our graphics guys The Dangerbrain!

That's all for now - the next update we'll be showing off the latest set photos as well as the new camera we're using for Season Two...

Stay tuned and thanks for your support!

@Jannik Tesche - It will be professional subtitled if they hit $650K.

    4. Jannik Tesche on February 7, 2013

Will there be english subtitles on the Blu-ray for season two? It's not that you're all mumbling but as a non-native speaker there were still some little details I missed on the season one BD. It was still epic, though. ;)

I want my name/tag on the High Score List on a VGHS Arcade Machine!!!

      So I was thinking:

      - Outtakes and Alternative Scenes download
      - Video of the writers meetings showing how the story evolved
      - Gamer Patches (the Sew-on kind) for different products/teams/schools
      - Varsity T-Shirt/Hoodie/Jacket with all sponsor logos
      - Private screening in a person's home where Freddie comes out to your house, eats your food, sits on your couch and watches his show

      Some thoughts...

I'd love to see a 'behind the scenes' about the music and sound you use in VGHS, because you use lots of awesome music in the episodes. Even though I recognize some music, I am quite curious how you guys make all the other epic action-scene music. Anyway, keep up the good work and I hope you reach your goal!

They should try to get in contact with the people behind The Oculus Rift, what is more fitting in a futureistic gaming setting? :3

    9. J. Mad on February 5, 2013

Every update is making me more and more impatient !! Ahah. Thank you so much for being awesome and pleasing the fans with such fantastic rewards !

    10. Richard "AvatarIII" Barclay on February 5, 2013

      @Freddie: yeah, I pledged to that :D

    11. Kevin Davis on February 5, 2013

Matt Bradford - If it's anything like last season, your gamertag will be used on leaderboards and other such VFX across the school. The digital downloads were served up via a super secret download like that Freddie sends out to all the appropriate backers.

    12. Joel Thorsson on February 5, 2013

The Napalm Design was actually made for an energy drink for Season 1, but then, when they got sponsored by Monster they scrapped it! :P

      I'm scared.
What if the project doesn't get enough funding?
I actually hope it does, omfg.

Christian - Definitely - We are planning on having it but depending on the interest, I'm trying to gauge how much my hosting fees are going to be.

The fact that other schools are part of the competition is awesome! I like it a lot! Can't wait for the series!

    19. Rush Ferrell on February 5, 2013

Awesome update! Very excited to start watching the show. I am curious myself how the gamer tag and digital downloads are going to work. I'm sure this will be clarified soon enough though. I will get paid again before the cutoff so you'll be seeing another donation to the cause from me. So stoked to contribute to this production.

Whith this update I'm quite unsure if the a download for season 1 is included. (In the last update yous said that basicly most reward lvl included it. "$15 - DRM-free 1080p digital downloads of Season 2 & Season 1! name/gamertag in the credits.").
But if it is already included, why have a survey-option "Digital Downloads for Season One"?
Could you please clarify that, I would really like to get a DRM-free download of Season 1.

Speaking as a former writer for Hardcore Gamer Magazine, and now the web site, I know which team I have to root for. Sorry, VGHS, but I gotta go with the home team.
