Welcome to historic Franklin, Tennessee – one of Money magazine’s Best Places to Live. Franklin continues to attract a diverse growing population thanks to all it has to offer – a vibrant Main Street, beautiful parks, family-friendly festivals, a rich history, unmatched Southern hospitality, and terrific public and private schools.
One thing Franklin residents haven’t had access to is a professional daily digital newspaper focused on delivering the news that matters when it happens.
That’s about to change.
Introducing Franklin Home Page – YOUR Go To Place for Franklin News First.
Former Tennessean editor & award-winning journalist Susan Leathers partnered with marketing and advertising specialist Kelly Gilfillan in 2009 to form BrentWord Communications LLC and launch an independent daily online newspaper devoted entirely to the people, events, and breaking news happening in their community. Developed on the promise of giving their neighbors more coverage of their community while traditional newspapers continued to offer less, Brentwood Home Page quickly became the go to place for Brentwood news and now reaches 40,000 unique visitors every month.
Included in that number, Google Analytics shows 18,000 visits each month from loyal readers in Franklin.
When opportunity knocks . . .
So, with Brentwood Home Page thriving, Susan and Kelly are seizing on the chance to open a new door for those already loyal readers. Their pledge: More coverage of the community those Franklin readers inhabit in the form of a free daily online newspaper devoted to the people, events, and breaking news happening in Franklin.
Our sales team is working hard to introduce the concept to Franklin businesses and are making headway to produce a revenue stream to support the newspaper through advertising. However, we need your help in the first three months. The $10,000 we are asking for from you, the public, will go directly toward paying our Franklin editor and writer for three months. Within three months, the company should be producing a sustainable revenue to continue to bring you Franklin News First.
Franklin News First exclusively on Franklin Home Page.
Scheduled to launch in August 2012, Franklin Home Page kicks off in conjunction with football time in Tennessee by offering an unprecedented season preview of the football teams at Franklin High, Centennial High, and Battle Ground Academy as well as Independence and Page high schools. Coaches interviews, game photos, player profiles, and next-day stories and statistics will continue throughout the fall culminating with the playoffs and, quite possibly, a State Championship game or two.
Sports are just the beginning though. No other newspaper in print or online will cover Franklin day-in and day-out the way Franklin Home Page can. Whether you’re looking for the latest schools news, what’s happening on the Franklin Board of Aldermen, or timely coverage of premiere social events – Franklin Home Page delivers with a staff of professional journalists & talented photographers.
Accessible both in a daily email digest of stories and online from your computer or smartphone at FranklinHomePage.com, readers will discover columnists they very well may recognize from their own church, civic organization, or subdivision. Franklin Home Page writers are people you’ll get to know not only from their writing, but because you’ll see them in your neighborhood.
