Hi all,

Thanks to all those who came along to the party, we hope everybody enjoyed the entertainment. We were too busy to catch much more than a glimpse, the bits we were able to see of the Rock n Roll Circus were amazing! And the headline act Joe Driscoll and Sekou Kouyate was really worth waiting for. Great music.

Turning to the serious stuff, it was a gremlin night for us, the units we were expecting for the demo, are as far as we know being held in China by the Chinese Customs, being scanned or whatever (problem is the battery and the magnet in the driver). So we had to use the units which David had used for the stereo test in update 33. Gremlins struck there too, since the button on one of the Bluetooth units was the worse for wear (before anyone asks, no, it's not the same as used in the final product - it's an external module with an on off switch only used in the test and demo versions).

Anyway we were able to let backers handle and play and hear the FS-X for the first time. The listening room we had been promised was a bit small, too hot, and way too noisy, but nevertheless we hope those backers who were there did get a chance, however brief, for a first "hands on". Plus, it was great for us to talk more with some of you and get plenty of feedback on our first Kickstarter project.

None of the backers had a camera with them, but Julian Grass from Info Letterbox Films, the very talented guy who made the "Day out" video for us, was there to capture the action, and we will be posting a video as soon as possible. Note: Julian was nominated for this years Cannes Film Festival shortlist for short films - and apart from being very talented, he's also a very nice guy.

The surprise we had promised was the first outing for the subwoofer. Not sure, but that may be in the video. We don't want to give too much away, but the subwoofer is a real breakthrough - lots of power and true low frequency packed into a 14 cm cube. (that's bigger than the FS-X, but not much bigger). Plus of course, portability and long battery playtime. We hope to get that out and onto Kickstarter as soon as the FS-X has shipped.

Finally, we promise you the reason we didn't put out this update sooner wasn't due to a hangover, {honestly guv...only water consumed!} instead, just put it down to sheer tiredness.

We hope those of you who came enjoyed our first event, it was a great learning experience for us and an interesting new activity to be involved in. We hope to meet more of you at our next one!

All the best,

The Frankenspiel Team

Im also very interested in the sub! If pre pledging is possible I really hope that you guys will consider this!

Wish I could have been there.
But I have a house to fix up and sell.

Agreed here with @marsha and @ttan...pre-pledging for fs-x backers is a great idea, as is an upgrade pathway for existing owners of fs-x unit(s). As a proud forthcoming owner of a single fs-x unit who was torn between pre-ordering a second unit for stereo and sticking with mono, I have to say that I would be totally swayed by an upgrade pathway with the sub and another unit benefitting existing owners...either through a KS pledge or otherwise!

      - Do you intend to package the subwoofer by itself or as a complete 2.1 system?
      - It would be great if you can provide upgrade paths for new people as well people who have bought 1 or 2 FS-X?
      Thanks.

Seriously guys. I am eagerly awaiting my FS-X pair. Now you guys talk about a 14cm subwoofer cube. Man, it will be a combination to die for.

If this combo will be anything like the FoxL and FoxLO combo that I have, it will be absolutely awesome. A personal travelling hi-fi unit. Truly portable and wireless. WOW !!!!

Sounds like it was a great night! I can't wait to see some footage!

Another campaign apparently found a way to allow the backers from its first campaign to pre-pledge through the Kickstarter platform before releasing its second campaign. I've never seen a campaign do it through KS, so I can only assume that it is a new feature that KS has released. It has been working quite smoothly -- no different than pledging for rewards during the campaign! (They even gave us the best price, better than EB, to show their appreciation.) Plus because we get a sneak peek at the campaign page before it goes live, we are able to comment and provide ideas to improve the newly developed invention and the campaign page itself. So you guys might want to look into the possibility of doing this for your second campaign. I'm sure you can contact KS for info about how to implement this if you don't already know how. :-)

I find it strange that Chinese customs are scrutinizing an outgoing package enough to scan it (I'd get it if it were incoming into China, but leaving?!) -- and I hope scanning won't damage the inner components! Is it X-rays? I doubt it'll be an issue once our units are shipped since they are scanning this one, but it's an interesting question.

hi guys! thank you for a great night! it was really lovely to meet and talk to you. next to your admirable water drinking resolve ( i did try to buy them a drink guys, but they were really being very good! ) i may have had a bit too much myself, so i hope it wasn't too tedious to listen to me so patiently. either way thank you, and i can't wait to hear more about your other ideas and how and where you'll go from here.
i'm still really looking forward to hearing the FS-Xes in stereo and eventually together with the sub too, but the single speaker demo was also really impressive, as was the build quality, your other ideas and your team as a whole....so for those who weren't able to be there, good and exciting things are coming! :D

Hope you give your FS-X backers a heads up to give us the first shot at earlybird subwoofer pledges :)

I'm so glad the subwoofer is coming. Ha I haven't even heard the FS-X but I've been so excited about it arriving I want to get the full set lol.

I'm heading on holiday the first week of September so, for all of you waiting for an FS-X to be delivered... My money is on that week lol.

Joke aside, if you're having trouble getting your demo production model here.... doesn't this mean that we too will have that problem with shipping, once they're made?
