By next week's update we are hoping to have closed down the logistics and software updates. We are also preparing reward groups with appropriate accessories.
Having told you that there would be no more reviews for the moment, there was a misunderstanding which led to some sets being sent. Two of our bloggers have gone ahead and posted their reviews.
We had intended to have any further reviews coincide with the end of this project and the launch of a new Frankenspiel webshop (post-Kickstarter) to promote the FS-X and coincide with its release to the market.
Nevertheless, we hope you will find some value in their reviews.
Picking up on one point TekRevue have commented on, namely distortion while “Power Boost” mode is in operation. In the software version they reviewed there is some distortion in the top 3% of power. Note that in shipping units, this software is updated and the operation of the unit simplified, and there is no distortion.
The absence of distortion even at high volume is something that truly stands out from other speakers in the market so we would like you to listen out for this and send us your feedback when you receive your units.
Overall, AppAdvice gave the FS-X a very positive review.
AppAdvice did however comment that pairing can be tricky at first set up (especially for dual mode) but it is simple there on after. The same comment we made in connection with the Tekrevue review applies here, software updates in the shipping units eliminate the issues referred to by AppAdvice.
We have put considerable effort into simplifying the user experience in the final stages of the project and we have every intention to deliver a product that is simple enough to operate without our User Guide. However, we would be happy to include a visual walk-through or video tutorial if it is deemed necessary.
AppAdvice did also comment on the cost of a single FS-X. While we appreciate their feedback, our team disagrees, we believe that even the original FS-X was a very reasonably priced speaker considering its quality in comparison to other speakers in and even above that price range. So much so that after launch we had even considered increasing our RRP due to the several improvements over the course of this project. Of course, this doesn’t necessarily affect you*, however we would appreciate your feedback on whether you think the FS-X is a reasonably priced speaker once you receive your rewards.
*If you do want to purchase another FS-X post-Kickstarter, we will offer all backers discount codes.
Going back to the 100 sets which were intended for more vloggers and bloggers. We did not send these immediately to backers because at the time we were not ready with all of the accessories and we couldn’t find a fair way to achieve this. Having listened to feedback, we confirm we will ship these units to backers instead of reviewers.
Your next update will be no later than a week from now, Wednesday 11th November.
All the best,
The Frankenspiel Team
