About

What is TastePlease ?

TastePlease offers a new and revolutionary way to dine, meet and interact. It’s an online Food Universe that combines the best of social media with a Global marketplace for unique and authentic meal experiences.

BY FOODIES, FOR FOODIES Driven by a shared passion for food, the team behind TastePlease caters to food lovers across the globe. It doesn’t matter if you are a carnivore, vegan, or fruitarian – there is a place for everyone on TastePlease.

ENJOY A WORLD OF FLAVOURS With TastePlease as your travel companion, you can experience true local food culture like never before. The global platform makes it easy for hungry travellers to connect with local hosts, allowing them to get a real taste of any given country’s cuisine.

SHOWCASE YOUR COOKING SKILLS Whether you are a professional chef or simply a passionate home cook, TastePlease is the perfect platform to share your talents in the kitchen. Simply sign up, create your event and wait for new and exciting people to purchase a seat!

IT’S ALL ABOUT SHARING The best things in life are meant to be shared, and TastePlease makes it easy to share food experiences both online and online, as the platform is fully integrated with Facebook and other major social media channels.

TASTE THE WORLD!

TastePlease is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, created by local chef Frank Lantz - From march 22, TastePlease is available in 190 countries and 14 languages - www.tasteplease.com and available via app for iOS and Android devices.

TastePlease will revolutionize the way we dine, meet and interact. The TastePlease social platform makes it much easier for people with a passion for food to come together – it’s basically a worldwide dining club where everybody is invited.”

Unlike other social media platforms, TastePlease’s food universe is mainly focused on sharing in-person experiences. In other words, it is all about using modern technology to socialize the old fashioned way. From blinis to burgers, food has the power to bring us together. Today’s busy lifestyle, however, makes it hard to schedule meals with family and friends as often as we might wish. So why not try a social dinner with like minded food lovers?

The new TastePlease platform offers its users the opportunity to create, host and join culinary events anywhere, anytime. Professional chefs can find tasters to try out new menus, hospitable home cooks can fill the seats around their dining table, and hungry foodies can find their next unique meal.

Thanks to the rise of Airbnb, we already travel the world living like the locals do. With the introduction of TastePlease, we can eat like – and with – the locals, too.

It may finally be time to say goodbye to the infamous tourist traps and start indulging in true local flavours. “The search for authentic food experiences was essential to me when I first got the idea for TastePlease,” says founder Frank Lantz.

“I wanted to make it easy for travellers to get a real taste of local culture and find something like that little family restaurant we all look for when we go abroad.”

And the social dining adventures are by no means reserved for travellers. By engaging with the different cultures and cuisines represented in their very own neighbourhood, locals will have the chance to experience their city from an all new perspective.

WHY BACK US?

Basically, we are just the messengers! TastePlease is a platform set free and in the hands of you, the user!

The team behind TastePlease have many visions that we’d like your help to carry out:

Use the platform to combat loneliness - imagine a lonely elderly lady cooking for students in her neighborhood, bringing extra meaning to many lives. TastePlease can help make this happen!

Help struggling people in developing countries - imagine a poor farmer barely making ends meet, being able to provide for his/her family by selling an authentic fresh ingredient dining experience to tourists for much more than he could sell his produce for at his local market? TastePlease can help make this happen!

Combat food waste - with TastePlease, you can easily sell those portion(s) you/your close ones couldn’t eat to those who perhaps haven’t got the time to cook for themselves. We’re also working on anti food waste schemes where famous chefs and environmentalists get together and create inspiring content that helps YOU combat food waste.

Help people from different cultures understand each other - no one’s ever started a conflict with a belly full of delicious food :-)

THE TASTEPLEASE TEAM

Morgan Thomas - A true international, having both Australian and Welsh roots, Morgan is our professional film content provider and all around man about town. Morgan always knows someone who can make something happen, rendering him an invaluable asset to TastePlease. As such, Morgan's passion project is to help people reach out to each other and start socializing more.

When he’s not working, you’ll see him charming the local Vesterbro gentry, most likely sipping on a coffee, whisky or a glass of rosé. Oh, to be able to enjoy the good life :-)

Morgan also cooks a mean “man salad” (don’t ask), but otherwise mostly enjoys eating out.

Alexander Lange - A true foodie (or food snob some might argue) in the purest meaning of the word, spending most of his non TastePlease time on any and all food projects and experiences!

Other than a snob, Alexander is a marketing professional whose core mission is to get you, and MANY other people, to sign up to TastePlease, as well as coordinate the TastePlease marketing and PR efforts, making sure we all stick to the plan. Personally, his mission with TastePlease is to not only help people connect and have fun, but help the people and nature of developing countries to see better days!

Pia Sørensen - Straight out of Santiago and with both feet firmly planted in the Jutlandian soil, she’s our PR manager. She’s likely to be the architect of most things you read and hear regarding TastePlease and is also our resident multi linguist.

Pia is a very hard worker who aims to inspire you! She’s also the resident moral compass at TastePlease, making sure that we all behave and act right. A truely needed quality when working with three men who sometimes act like teenagers (don’t we all?) :-)

Frank Lantz - Never one to toot his own horn (as if), Frank is the manager and creator of TastePlease. Frank is a chef and food entrepreneur, as well as a household name on the Copenhagen food scene. You name a food game, and he’s played it at some point.

When Frank isn’t working on TastePlease, which he pretty much does all the time, he loves experiencing any and everything food related, as well as spoiling his kids!

Risks and challenges

Our ultimate goal is to bring people of different cultures and backgrounds together over a meal - a world where we’re closer to each other.

We need funds to help spread the message world wide. We’re a team of 4 people and we’ve not nearly got the resources we would like to seriously accelerate the growth of TastePlease Internationally.

To sum up, your pledges will be put to good use, funding efforts to market TastePlease worldwide, specifically:

- Marketing (ad placements etc.)
- Funds to hire city ambassadors (major hub cities on all continents)
- PR efforts
- System upkeep & hosting
- Production of short format promotional film content
- Costs incurred recruiting hosts worldwide
