WHAT IF A WATCH COULD DO MORE? La Planète Bleue is more than just a good looking, Swiss Made automatic watch. This watch could help solve one of the world's greatest problems, by helping to remove some of the plastic polluting the world's oceans.
Our watch is named for our small, interconnected world - La Planète Bleue, which in French means "The Blue Planet", and pays tribute to our shared home, planet earth. The color blue, for many, means a clean and healthy ocean.
Unfortunately, this is not an accurate description at the moment. But we are optimistic, and we are proud to announce a partnership with the great sailor Yvan Bourgnon, and his organization The SeaCleaners. For every timepiece sold, a portion of its sale price will be given as a donation to The SeaCleaners to help them in their efforts , to protect the oceans from plastic pollution.
WE WILL BE OFFERING THREE DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF OUR WATCH : (left to right)
- La Planète Bleue Classic - is an unlimited, numbered version.
- Yvan Bourgnon Signature - is a limited edition of 220 watches in recognition of his last world voyage, which he completed in 220 days.
- Le Manta - is a limited edition of 300 watches in recognition of The SeaCleaners plans to construct 300 boats to help in their efforts to rid the ocean of its plastic pollution.
You have the option of either a rubber or leather strap (available in brown or blue). You also have the option to upgrade to the stainless-steel bracelet for an additional $130.
HOW CAN A WATCH CLEAN THE OCEAN? A portion of the sales price for each La Planète Bleue sold will go to The SeaCleaners to aid them in their mission to clean the earth’s oceans of plastics and other pollution.
We are working hand in hand with the sailor and explorer Yvan Bourgnon and his organization The SeaCleaners.
Each timepiece is carefully assembled to ensure that your watch will be something that you treasure not just today, but for all time. Francois Aubry watches are crafted from stainless steel, powered by Swiss automatic movements, and are truly unique in design. Solid Swiss craftmanship, impeccable timekeeping and water resistant to 5 ATM / 50 meters / 165 feet.

WHO IS THE SAILOR YVAN BOURGNON ?
"I was only 8 years old when I travelled the world’s seas for the first time. I went on a round-the-world trip with my parents for three years.
Years later, during different sailing races, I was shocked to see how badly all the oceans that I crossed are polluted by all types of plastic waste.
Having become fully aware of this real planetary natural catastrophe, I decided to create the NGO “The Sea Cleaners”, which is dedicated to reducing plastic pollution. Our objective is to fight both on land and at sea.
To succeed in this new challenge I have gathered together a team of experts and professionals. We have launched an innovative project : The Manta ship will be the first ocean going vessel capable of mass collecting and processing floating macro-waste before it breaks up."

Risks and challenges
After more than 30 years of expertise in the Swiss watch industry, François Aubry launched his own brand in 2017. The 23.27 collection are high-end, Swiss made watches, created to pay homage to planet earth. This series is entirely manufactured in the Saint-Imier region to help reduce CO2 emissions.
In 2019, in order to be able to produce a watch at a more competitive price than the first collection, but still in Swiss Made quality, we had to go beyond the borders of exclusively local production. Nonetheless, we remain fundamentally committed to our core values and our goal to help ensure the health of our home, our earth. François Aubry and Yvan Bourgnon are joining forces today to present "La Planète Bleue". With each timepiece sold, part of the sale will go directly to The SeaCleaners organization to help preserve the oceans and reduce plastic pollution around the globe.
This is a special watch, and our goal is to enter a conversation with our customers and develop a relationship with them. For this reason, we will not be found in traditional states outlets, nor through traditional distribution methods. All Francois Aubry watches will ship from our workshop directly to you. This ensures that we can offer you the highest quality for the lowest price. We also provide free worldwide shipping and a conditional 3 years warranty.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
