TEMPUS TRIP FIRST DEMO:
This was the first demo done 2 years ago for a local contest, so the audio is in Spanish but it has English subtitles:
Tuesday afternoon, May 19th, 2016. The time space-continuum is sent into disarray when Chuck and Curly –two likeable but disoriented teens- accidentally destroy the Tempus Sanctum Oraculus, the mythical time keeping piece of the Ancients.
In their quest to restore the missing pieces of Tempus Oraculus, Chuck and Curly are sent into an alternate universe, a 1960’s where history is seriously out whack… With the help of Nina -their scatterbrained guide of the unknown- their mission is to restore order in the Universe before it’s too late.
And so the bell rings….
Chuck & Curly are 2 friends who found an ancient puzzle, however, being too dumb and lazy to try to solve it, they tried to cheat and by doing so they ended up breaking the puzzle. What they didn't know was that the puzzle was an old prison made by Chronos who made it to capture the God of Chaos...
Now Chaos is out bringing mayhem to the universe, mixing time and space, and now Chuck & Curly must go through different mixed eras with Nina, Chronos' helper, to find every piece of the puzzle through all the mixed eras and fix the universe.
In 2014 Tempus Trip won at the Pixel Pro Awards, a contest of animation created and hosted by the Government of El Salvador to motivate local talent into competing in the global market and kickstart the animation industry in Central America. With the help of a talented team of local artists, with national and international awards. Tempus Trip is aiming to be the first successful Kickstarter campaign created in El Salvador and the first full animated series. Our Minimum goal is to produce 1, brand new, six minute Tempus Trip cartoon episode. The more money we raise, the more cartoon episodes we make. The production will begin immediately, the first episode will be released in Q3/2017.
MEET THE CHARACTERS
Chuck - The Daring Hero
Chuck is a naive and daring dude, that combination makes him get into big problems. He loves video games and skating. He´s father is an adventurous archaeologist who found Chrono's Puzzle.
Curly - The Smart Guy
Curly is more cautious and smarter than Chuck, he´s a guy of a few words. He´s the voice of reason for Chuck and also loves video games and skating.
Nina - The Mystic Guide
Nina is the guide of Chuck & Curly, task given by Chronos. She's the one telling them where they must go to get the pieces of the puzzle and nobody can see her but Chuck & Curly. However she's easily distracted, temperamental & kind of smug, but she's willing to do her job to get the mission done.
Chaos - The Bad Guy
Chaos is an ancient entity, he was locked up in the mystic puzzle. He was liberated by Chuck & Curly when they broke the puzzle by trying to cheat it. When he was released he mixed all the time & space between each other so he could hide from Chronos.

Tempus Trip is Brought to you by Monica de Landaverde & Edmundo Landaverde, Frame Freak Studios, Breadpig: Sidekick for Hire & Channel Frederator Network. Monica de Landaverde & Edmundo Landaverde created "Tempus Trip" to be the second cartoon project we've done and become animated shorts. She and Frame Freak Studio spent more than 15 months to make the demo and this episode.
I had the experience every Salvadoran has to live of working in a day job of doom and not happy at all about it. I always had the passion for animation and illustration and founding Frame Freak Studio with Mundo and Rodrigo was a big opportunity for me to do what I loved. When I came up with Tempus Trip I became the first woman to win the Pixel Awards in my country and now I would like to bring this project to the next level and see how far we can go with it.
I've been drawing all my life since I was 3 years old, I grew up dreaming making a living by doing that, in time, my dream evolved to living as an animator. Through many years, difficulties and the internet I was able to learn about it and work as an animator doing TV commercials and now it's time to jump into something bigger doing animated series, which is something that has never been really achieved in our country and at the same time, I want to lend a hand to great talents to work in something new with us.
Like Mundo, I used to draw since I remember and it was always my dream to create an animated series, however, life here is hard and made me abandon that dream by the time I went to college where I ended up pursuing system engineering and IT jobs. Years later I became an entrepreneur and joined this team and provided my experience in growing businesses online to this project to watch it become a reality. While I'm not behind the pen doing the work, it's great for me to be helping in making this project come to life.
Frame Freak Studio is an independent animation studio who was worked on TV animations and worked for brands such as Coca Cola, Pepsi, Burger King, Unilever, Fanta, Citi Bank, Pizza Hut, Walmart, Shell, Global Smile Foundation, P&G, Miller, Curves, Mister Donut, Jack Daniel's, Finlandia, and more. We are a small Cartoon Animation Studio in El Salvador. We love animated cartoons and learning from the best animators in the industry through interviews. We’re a team of dedicated entrepreneurs, graphic designers and animators who live in El Salvador, working towards becoming one of the first cartoon animation companies in Central America working for clients all over the world.
OUR ANIMATION REEL:
Since the moment we begin we started contacting the best in the industry worldwide to learn from them and allow others to learn from them as well and to use the technology we have today to connect with clients all over the world and work with the best prospects. We have worked with over 100 clients so far, in more than 18 countries all over the world and we’re aiming to connect with even more people as we work. We don’t only want to become a commercial animation studio, we’re also working towards helping other creative professionals all over the world to learn the craft, to learn what it takes and to get them closer to their goals while we grow as a company.
On the Shoulder of Giants...
Since this is the first Kickstarter we've done, and we had no-one to ask in Latin America, we decided to put the technology and the resources we had at hand and ask the best in the world, and luckily for us, they answered our calls.
Not only that, we wanted to share all this knowledge and experience with everyone in the world for free. So that way if anybody wants to start an animation project and they don't know all the details of the making, marketing, logistics and all that. You could learn from the experience of many people who have not only made great animation projects but also who have made successful Kickstarting and Crowdfunding campaigns in the past with an interview series called The Creative Hustlers Show.

■ Television Production Quality Cartoon
■ Make a Whole Series of Cartoons
■ More $ Means More Episodes
If we're fortunate enough to exceed our goal, we'll produce more episodes while continuing to reward you for your support. Here's what we currently have planned...
- One 6 Minutes Short Episode
- IF we meet our stretch goals we will be doing more episodes as we meet them, and if we pass them we have surprise at the end of the line for you.
- English Voice Over
- Professional English Subtitles (for those who have hearing problems)
- Subtitulos Profesionales en Español (para nuestra audiencia en español)
- Digital Files will be in .Mov or MP4 and stereo .wav
- Backers who pledge at the $20 reward tier and higher will also have digital access to any future Tempus Trip animations that we produce.
We´re also planning a big surprise bonus if we manage to do $600,000 or more!
Look we know what you're thinking, and you're right; this is a lot of money for a cartoon episode, But to make a television-quality animation, isn't cheap, and it takes a lot longer than most of us would like, too. Here's why we're asking for $60,000 (And besides a lot will go into producing and shipping the rewards, more than you think).
Tempus Trip will be made using Anime Studio, which will allow us to cut down some production costs and the time to deliver the episodes to you faster, but still, creating each element from zero takes time and a lot of hard work.
Each episode pre-production stage will consist of writing the script, storyboarding, casting and recording (the voices) in an top of the line studio, making an animatic, shooting the storyboard with the final recorded audio, designing backgrounds, characters, props, clothes, effects, coloring the models, timing, and much more and on top of that we need to make a ton of casting (coming worldwide).
TEMPUS TRIP: ANIMATIC
After Pre-Production work is done, we will begin the process of creating the backgrounds, character design, rigging, and animation of the episodes funded, depending on how many episodes we fund, we'll be hiring more people to join and help us to get things done faster and even hiring studios to help us out with the production of the episodes.
Here's what happens in the post-production stage: the animation is edited; sound effects are recorded and added; and the composer creates the score. The sounds effects, music, and dialog are finally blended together with the animation in the last step of production, the final mix.
A TRIBUTE: THE ALI SHUFFLE:
So, yes, these cartoons tend to be a bit pricey. But the good news is that over all this time we've been able to get great partners, and talent waiting for our call to start working and I'm sure many of you will be willing to join us into this great journey as well.
TEMPUS TRIP: THE MAKING
"THE BEST ARE EVERYWHERE" - Jason Fried
We know very well that talent & people with the right attitude to do great things are everywhere and we're open to all the help we can get, so if you're a 2D artist, 2D animator, illustrator, visual effects artist, compositor, voice over talent, musician, or if you feel like contribute to this series in any way not mentioned here, please contact us at: Jobs@FrameFreakStudio.com
■ Shows get made with outside investment but that also means outside influence.
In most cases, the companies providing funding want a voice in how that cartoon is made. We've decided seeking funding from fans through Kickstarter is not only the fastest way to bring you this series, but also the best way to preserve the artistic vision and soul. This will allow us to retain creative rights over the project.
■ Securing funds the traditional way can take years.
Even the greatest in the industry have this problem, Fred Seibert, one of the greatest producers of cartoons of all time, had to fight 5 years to be able to finally make Adventure Time a reality, and took Fred and Gendy Tartakovsky about 12 years to bring back Samurai Jack.
But having even just 1 episode funded in Kickstarter can make a huge difference into accelerating this process with the producers, and in the best case scenario, we even have a chance of finishing the first 10 episodes. So we're betting for everything here.
This also gives you, the fans, a chance to help make a show you love possible! By working with you we can help make the show faster and better than by traditional funding streams.

All of this would have been impossible to make if it wasn't for all the people world wide who made this possible. We've been really lucky to have the support of such amazing people through this journey, therefore, we would love to give special thanks to Victor Aguilar for the help doing the video. To Victor Paredes and the guys at Smith Micro for supporting us with 5 licenes of Moho 12. To Fred Seibert for giving his valuable time for helping us and get our interview show started and letting us believe we could achieve so much more. To the guys in Sun Creature for being an amazing inspiration. To Stephen Silver who opened our eyes to what's possible. To Bobby Chiu and the guys of Schoolism for showing us how great things can have very simple beginnings with the tech we have at our hand. to Robert Kondo from Tonko House for showing us how much hard work is needed to do great things. To Carlos Baena for warning us ahead about how hard is to work on your own pieces but totally worth it. To Elena Rapondzhieva and Dimitar Petrov from The Golden Apple to show us that even with limited resources, you can make great things if you are willing to put the passion and the hard work. To Tomm Moore from Cartoon Saloon, for showing us new paths we can use to get our projects funded. To Amanda Duarte and Gustavo Lima from Limetown Studios for helping us figure out how to get great deals from Latin America. To Brett Jubinville and Laurel Dalgleish to help us see that Kickstarter is not as easy as everyone makes it out to be and open our eyes to new opportunities worldwide. To Mark Caballero from Screen Novelties for Teaching us how to survive doing commercial work and make time to work on passion projects. To Brenda Chapman for giving us advice and encouragement to pursue our own creativity instead of selling it out. To Timothy Marc and the guys from SSM for all the support and help from the very beginning into this entrepreneurial Journey, and for believing in us when no-one did. To Marie Forleo to open up opportunities even to those who are forgotten by many. Lastly but not least, a huge thanks to the guys at Happy Coffee for putting up with us at such long hours. And everyone who has been following our crazy path.
Risks and challenges
Production delays are the most likely risk. There's a huge difference between shorts and entire episodes, so there will of course be some issues along the way. In preparation for this, we're building in lots talent and work force for Fall 2016 when we intend to start the show. Should any issues arise, this will give us plenty of time to address them without sacrificing our schedule. We're putting our hearts and souls into this show and want it done right.
With your help through Kickstarter, we don't have to worry about the project being sidelined due to permits, bureaucracy, or censorship. Those are the major roadblocks for many traditional media.
When it comes to the Kickstarter rewards we're working with Breadpig, Inc to make sure everything goes well. For specific rewards we're working with other partners that have helped us bring merchandise in the past for other Tempus Trip Properties!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
