We've been negotiating with global logistics partners to find the most comfortable and reliable way for you to receive your packages. Thus, we take care of all import taxes and customs within the EU and USA and will distribute the games through strategically placed fulfillment centers.
Nontheless, international shipping does not always come at the same price, especially for a large box that weights approximately 3 kg. Thus, we have separated the shipping costs from the pledges. Once you select a pledge, you will be asked for your home country and be charged the shipping fees on top. To make the costs for transport, VAT and customs more transparent, here's an overview:
Please be aware that for countries outside the EU or USA, import taxes or customs may apply depending on your local regulations. Please familiarize yourself with customs handling in your country in order not to be surprised by any customs fees.
Important notice about the "everywhere else" fee: This is an average value for remote regions, as we could not add in every single country of the world at a reasonable effort. If you find yourself being confronted with 75 € for shipping (35 € for miniature pack), please don't hesitate and contact us with your country of origin before you pledge. We will then look up alternate quotes for your country and if we're lucky, it can become cheaper.
We aim at delivering not only a fun game, but also high quality materials. Thus, the materials and manufacturing process makes up the largest portion of the scheduled budget, including tooling and sampling costs to make sure the miniatures meet our quality goals. With the game weighing approximately 3 kg and being rather large, the logistics are quite heavy on this project as well. While the game design is pretty much finished, we also allocated a reserve for the pre-press process in order to adjust all visual materials for the printing and manufacturing process.
If you're a retailer and would like to order stock for your shop, we have set up a special pledge level for you that contains four base games. Before you make your pledge, please contact us with a proof of your shop. Take your chance now, as there will likely be no edition of the game beyond Kickstarter.
The original design for the game was developed by the four MD.H gamedesign students Sebastian Kreutz, Dominik Lau, Robin Schäfer and Marcel Krafczyk. Starting out as a game design exercise, the game was successfully pitched to Crytek and was then further developed to become a true product.
After graduating, Sebastian and Dominik founded the independent studio Frame6 together with Julian Reinartz and Jessica Karger, also two MD.H alumni. When negotiations with a board game publisher turned out to be unsatisfactory, Frame6 picked up the production and further polished the game.
With our new team, we have even bigger board game enthusiasts on board and provide a collective experience of over 25 years in game and graphics design. Having worked with clients such as Ubisoft Blue Byte, Mercedes-Benz and 20th Century Fox, we know what it takes to create a good game and stunning visuals.
Aside from granting us the Crysis license for this game, the design team of the original Crysis series has assisted us with original visual assets and was part of our QA team for this game. This collaboration should guarantee a true to the original experience while providing original content for a core board gamer audience.
Risks and challenges
The game is pretty much ready for production and has been thoroughly tested over the course of two years by over 50 people, including the original game designers of Crysis. However, we were unable to find a reliable factory in our country of origin, so we have to work with an offshore facility. While having experience with our requirements for the production materials, the physical distance and language barrier can be a potential source of delays, for instance should any master copies not comply with our quality goals.
We're not restricting shipping to any particular territories and are thus working with experienced global logistics partners to ensure a reliable fulfillment. In rare cases outside the core territories like the EU or US, import may be complicated by local regulations. Once we know how many games to ship to which territory, we'll be working out the best options with our logistics partner.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
