FPS Russia is a YouTube personality with over 3 million subscribers and half a billion views. His videos often show how weapons work in real life, comparing them to how they are portrayed in video games. Things usually explode. This kickstarter is to bring his arsenal of weapons and explosions to his very own video game.
FPS Russia: The Game will be a shooter and a continuous runner that uses elements from all of the FPS Russia videos. The Professional Russian has gotten himself into some trouble, borrowing money from the wrong people to create a video game for his fans. Can Dmitri blow past his enemies and get home? Or is there a bigger conspiracy in the works?
The game will be free for download on iPhone, iPad and Android, with weapons and upgrades available as in-app purchases. We are actively working on the game and need the support of our Kickstarter backers to fund the finishing touches that will make FPS Russia: The Game a polished and complete experience on mobile devices.
This game will have what all FPS fans want: LOTS AND LOTS OF WEAPONS. The armory will be filled with firearms, explosives and devices that FPS Russia has used in his videos, plus a few extra. Read on for the weapons.
The Kickstarter funds will go towards making FPSRussia: The Game will pay for the development costs to add more weapons and levels, and make it a more polished experience on mobile iPhone, iPad, iPod and Android devices. It'd be pretty cool of you guys to contribute.
"Desert Eagle in my pants but my other gun is bigger..."
The following weapons will be available for launch, along with the Kickstarter Exclusive weapon available only to backers. Some of the names have been changed, but everything you love about them is still there. These are not just vanity skins. Each weapon will have unique capabilities.
GUNS, MONEY, EXPLOSIVES! We're not allowed to give any of those away, but these rewards are almost as good.
We have kickstarter exclusive shirts, dogtags, physical maps of the game, and one-of-a-kind concept art canvases hand painted and suitable for framing. Other rewards include custom audio clips and videos from Dmitri. Backers in the $10,000 range can spend a day at the firing range with or be on set during filming of the FPS Show. Rewards are listed out on the right for backers under $10,000k. If you're backing the project for more than $10,000, contributors over the $20,000 mark can receive the following:
$20,000 - Be in the intro of an FPS Russia video and enjoy a day at the range for you and a friend. Limit: 2
$25,000 - Day at a special ops facility with FPS Russia, all expenses paid. Limit: 5
We only need $51,337 to pay off the mob, but after that...

$70,000 - Mac version of the game for release on the Mac App store (pending approval.)

Risks and challenges
As with any Kickstarter project, the support of our backers plays a key role in our success in creating and promoting FPS Russia: The Game. With the popularity of gaming Kickstarters, word of mouth is even more crucial. To spread the word, we'll be utilizing FPS Russia's massively popular YouTube, Facebook and Twitter accounts to spread the word about the campaign. We will also be reaching out to blogs and other outlets influential in gaming, weaponry and mobile technology.
Once the funding is in place, the FPS Russia team will be able to complete the game to the quality that the fans deserve. The Kickstarter funding will go towards studio costs to polish up gameplay, audio and assets in the game.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
For those of you who think this is me being greedy, its the complete opposite, this game will be free to download for all of you. I've put about $25,000 of my own money into the game already, spending hours recording voice overs, working with artists to sketch out custom characters, enemies, and levels. The rest of the money will go to keeping the game free and paying studio costs - programmers, artists, audio engineers.
We're looking into releasing on PSN, have some big Playstation fans on the dev team. Want to concentrate first on getting it to as many people as we can on iPhone and Android, PC and Mac.
Yes, when we have a PC version we still look into submitting to Steam.
May work it in to an update.
If you're in the US, there is NO ADDITIONAL COST to ship your rewards. If you're outside of the us there's a $10 charge because it's expensive. There's also a digital reward option now where no shipping is involved.
