Thoughts On a Slow Campaign....
It's a strange time. A strange feeling.
I know "Four Tanks and a Healer" can and will be gold if we ever get it off the ground, but I don't know how to get the word out there. I care way, way too much about this project to watch it die a slow Kickstarter death. It deserves better than that.
The question is "How". "How do I get this the spotlight it deserves?"
I have reached out. Sent literally over 500 emails, from standard emails to filling out news submission boxes on gaming and pop culture websites. We've definitely gotten some plugs, but have yet to get a "big one". To me, this is primed and perfect for the G4 and gaming generation. I have total faith that once we get some real attention on it, it's going to take off. But again... how do I do that? I'm not sure... but I have a few ideas.
1) We're holding some events. I'll be running a "Four Tanks" night here in Ohio to raise some of the funds, and our producer Marisa Zakaria will be holding one in LA. It's a start.
2) I think we really need to get some names attached. Professional wrestler and friend of mine Stevie Richards (WWE, TNA, WCW) has agreed to do a voice.
Again, it's a start. I want to nab a few more. I think it would help elevate the project... but only if those people help promote! People keep telling me to go after Felicia Day, who shares some mutual friends with myself, but I don't think she'd be interested in doing another MMO-based series. Perhaps I'll try. Any ideas for a few others? Any famous people you know who might help? Shoot me a line at lawsonmoonrunner at gmail.com !
That being said, I know I'm working hard here, but I feel like I need a team of people who are working just as hard. Our team has definitely helped in their own ways, but I need that extra "bang" to make a serious run at this. Or I need a famous person or two to help me get the word out there.
On a side note: Dracogen's Steve Dengler (he helped fund tons of cool things you probably know of http://dracogen.com/ ) has definitely been kind enough to help me forge our Kickstarter page into a proper one. Thanks, Dengler!
So... yeah. It's been a pretty humbling journey so far and I've learned that my reach is very limited. I just can't let "Four Tanks" die a pathetic death. I'll keep fighting the good fight, but I ask that anybody reading this helps spread the word. Send it to some websites. Show your gamer friends. Help me do what I can't do alone!
I really do need your help, folks.
If this ship has to sink, I'm still going to fight til the end. But it deserves better than that. It IS better than that. Help me not only keep it afloat, but help me make one of the coolest animated series runs of all.
